Try to start the system in safe mode and see if that works if so it is not the screen. To enter safe mode press F8 during boot up after the bios screen.

Your PC has a battery installed on the Mainboard that needs to be replaced. Its about the size of a watch battery. You can match the alpha-numeric model number to one at CVS or Wall-greens. Unfortunately though your model is an All-in-one model and you must disassemble the device to get to the battery. There are three options available to you at this time.

1. Contact a PC service center to have the battery replaced. Shouldn't cost more than $50-75.
2. Have faith in yourself and systematically disassemble the unit until you get to the battery. (NOTE: If you have 0 experience opening electronics this may not be the best option. If you are handy with a screwdriver however, this may turn out to be a rather intriguing experience. Remember, make sure you have plenty of open clean space, keep up with screws and where they came from (some are diff lengths and thread pitch.) and never work on anything until the power has been removed for a few minutes. Capacitors within the system can hold as much as 10K volts...enough to stop a mans heart. Although many will naturally drain power over the course seconds, some may take minutes)
3. Download and install an application similar to BetaClock, which will re-sync your clock on startup.

Replace your keyboard. My guess is something got spilt on the control key on your keyboard and now it is sticking.

If the logo comes try vaio recovery. Else service is the available option

could be a virus or a hard drive problem try repairing the o/s using repair disc if one came with the pc if not try to ask friends if they have one. Just make sure it is the same o/s originally installed

FROZEN as in the Keys are sticking or FROZEN as in nothing is working?You need to take the Computer keyboard apart and clean it

XP and Vista Normal Mode Start your computer as you normally would. Click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. Go to "C:\ Program Files\Sony\Setting Utility Series." Find and choose the "VCCPointingDevice" folder in the "Setting Utilities Series folder" to open the "Built-in Pointing Device" dialog box. Locate the "Enable" box on the "Built-in Pointing Device" dialog box. Check the box to enable the Vaio touchpad if you wish to use this device. Disable the touchpad if it is interfering with the external mouse. Uncheck the "Enable" box if you have a USB (PS/2) mouse connecting to your Vaio and wish to use that instead of the built-in touchpad. Pick "Yes, I'm Sure" when prompted to activate your choice, then close all the windows. Windows 7 Normal Mode Launch Windows as usual. Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Mouse" > "Pointing Device" to open the Vaio touchpad control center. Uncheck the "Enable" box on the "Pointing Device" window when you wish to use your external mouse. Check the "Enable" box on the "Pointing Device" window when you want to use the Sony Vaio touchpad. Make sure the external mouse is not interfering with the touchpad if you have one connected. If so, unplug the mouse from your computer. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the "Pointing Device" window. Close all other windows. XP and Vista Safe Mode Restart your computer. Press the F8 key before the Windows welcome screen appears to enter Safe Mode. Click "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Add/Remove Programs." Find and delete all software for mice and pointing devices. Restart your computer in normal Windows mode. Proceed to next step if the problem persists. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. Right click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Choose "Properties" on the drop-down list. Pick the "Device Manager" tab in the Properties window. Select the "Other Devices" folder and click on the "+" sign besides it. Delete all the devices under this "+" sign by clicking on the "Remove" button next to each of the items. Restart Windows in Normal Mode. Once Windows is operating, there will be a "New Hardware Wizard" pop-up that will load all the necessary drivers for the touchpad, mouse and other pointing devices. This should fix the corrupt driver for your Vaio touchpad. Windows 7 Safe Mode Reboot your computer and press the F8 key before the Windows welcome screen appears to enter Safe Mode. Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Device Manager" > "Mice and other pointing devices." Click the touchpad icon. Choose the "Driver" tab and press the "Uninstall" button. Press the "OK" button to confirm. Restart Windows in Normal Mode. Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Device Manager" > "Mice and other pointing devices." OS problem check whether it's update or not.. and activate the OS...

I went to Sony and typed in your particular model and added mouse at the end and got some results.There are some refurbished ones but I would never recommend those.The one i do see is $30,probably plus shipping too.Do notebook mouses have a smaller plug attachment or something?You said you searched online.I would try office depot or staples if you already haven't and there is one near you.You can call and ask rather than drive there.Also,optical mouse is the best.So much better than the rubber roller,well worth it's weight in gold.Anyhow here is the link.Good luck! May i know the Operating system running on the computer? What is the error message that you get?

Try if you are able to login to safe mode via Windows advanced boot options by hitting F8 while booting.

there is a pin-hole switch in the wrong of the drive, that is designed to open the drive manually in case of loss of power, or if the drive door gets stuck. You can do the following to open it:
1. straighten out a paper clip, or small pin. you will use this to press the release.(note: make sure if you are using a pin, it isn't sharp! you want to open the drive- not puncture it)
2. locate the pinhole (usually below the drive door), and stick the pin/paper clip in there. keep pushing, and the drive door should pop open slightly.
3. using your hands, gently pull the door the rest of the way open, and retrieve your CD.

scan your computer with a good antivirus program. and try uninstalling unwanted programs
click on start- then click on run- then type prefetch, it will open a window for you delete all files.
click on start- then click on run- then type dllcache, it will open a window for you delete all files.
click on start- then click on run- then type %temp%, it will open a window for you delete all files.

Try checking your power management feature, there should be a tab there that enable/disables wireless capability to during power save mode...

Not sure if this is different to a std keyboard but in cases like this I'd

Turn keyboard over, remove retaining screws noting position and order and take out the plastic membrane, wash thoroughly with mild detergent and dry thoroughly. Remove keys in turn, clean with warm water dry and replace. Any other stickiness an be removed with isopropyl alcohol or similar and a q tip or lintless cloth , gently clean. reassemble.

The best method is to use the Locksmith function on the ERD Commander 2005 toolkit download HERE unzip it then burn the ISO using Imageburn make sure that you import my AWS file prior to the burn as it contains the recommended write speeds for many brands of CD and DVD.

check batteries

either you have a virus that has penetrated into your bios or maybe u were in your bios lately? If it lets you on i would go to device manager in control panel and update all your drivers. make sure all your devices have drivers.

Usually you can use the TV viewing software for the video card and change the input from Antenna to "Video/Line/SVideo" or something like that.

What model video card is it?

Disconnect all devices from your PC including usb mouse and power adaptor.
Press power button and hold it for 20 seconds.
This will statically discharge teh PC. THen take out batteries from the keyboard and pres connect button to discharge keyboard.
When this is done connect pc to the mains and turn it on
Put batteries into keyboard and try to connect.
Press connect button on the pc first and then within few seconds press connect button on the keyboard.
