Steady ON is normal operation. If the LED flashes it's an indication of an error. It will flash a sequence then repeat to indicate the error.

Lux thermostats are not very good in my opinion, a heat pump is an AC unit that reverses operation so if the AC works and the Heat works then it is OK as far as the refrigeration cycle which is good, replace with a better thermostat such as Honeywell , try Lux 800 # too just in case.

Look on the interior panel on the furnace for the diagnostic codes.

Remove all the low voltage control wires from the thermostat, on the terminal board there is ,
R or Red = 24 volt "hot leg"
W or White = Heat circuit.
Y or Yellow = Cool circuit
G or Green = Fan circuit.
C or Common = 24 volt "neutral leg"

The R and C terminals are the 24 volt power supply, the R being the hot leg of power, C is the side of power that every 24 volt circuit terminates upon to complete the circuit.
Just as a car battery has a Negative post that all 12 volt circuits terminate upon in a car or anything electrical , they all require 2 legs of power, some voltages are only 1 hot leg 230 volts is 2 hot legs but 115 volts and 24 volts which a thermostat controls uses 1 hot leg being the R terminal.
The thermostat has switches internally that connect the hot leg of the 24 volt power to the desired circuit, jump red to white and heat comes on, jump red to green and fan runs, jump red to yellow and the AC unit outside runs. test this out and if it operates then the thermostat is bad assuming it is wired correctly.

Check for excessive Amp draw on the heat strips, tighten every connection, loose connections create heat which degrades the switches etc.

Goodman Heating... | Answered on Oct 15, 2019

Cut the power to the unit and remove the batteries too, let it sit 30 minutes then replace batteries and turn the breaker back on.

Goodman Heating... | Answered on Oct 15, 2019

If the heat strips are getting power they have to be "open" electrically, typically there will be a fuse link or limit to replace if defective.

Goodman Heating... | Answered on Oct 15, 2019

On the limits there may be a button in the center of the limit that you can depress, if it is tripped it will click and then work, the main limit is automatically reset unless it is bad, that is rare, if it will not reset it is bad.

You have a freon problem. It could be that you see the fan running outside but the compressor is not running. Check your filter to make sure it's clean and not restricting airflow.

Goodman Heating... | Answered on Sep 30, 2019

It may be the unit will not start up because of an internal error, like low freon, etc. Go to Goodman's website and down load a pdf copy of the owners manual. There is usually a trouble shoot section at the end of the manual that can help.

If you are capable and want to trouble shoot more, search for a copy of the installation and service manuals. This information is harder to come by because Goodman wants it dealer network service people to make money servicing your unit, so it is not that public. But if you are diligent you usually can find a copy buried in some obscure HVAC technical discussion on Goodman products.
