Safely shut it down and then pull the power cord. Making sure you are grounded (touch metal on the computer case and don't shuffle your feet on carpet), look on the motherboard for a little plastic piece (jumper) the kinda looks like a skinny chair and usually says "PSWD" next to it. Pull that, then safely plug the computer back in to power and turn it on. You should see a screen that tells you the password has cleared. You can do what you need to do in BIOS or you can replace the jumper and do what you need to do. OK, here is my guide to Remove Acer Bios password computer via Software. This has been done on testing machine Laptop Acer Aspire 3620/ Travel Mate 2420. This is a simple fix. Just open up the case and you'll see the motherboard. Sometimes the FAN will be there just sitting on top of the CPU either secured by screws or by some latching mechanism. The fan will also have one cable that plugs somewhere on the motherboard. If you can't see the fan clearly then there might be some other component that you will have to remove to get to it. You can get on eBay and put in your computer's name and model and find a replacement fan. Just put in the search Acer Power 1000 CPU Fan and you'll see fans for $35, unfortunately they have to come from Hong Kong, so be patient or look elsewhere.

This is because your web cam is not installed with compatible drivers with windows 7.So you need to download the compatible drivers and start using your web cam .

As long as the factory settings have not been contaminated. If you have a restore disc, that would be the best way to do it. Only problem with a fresh restore is that you loose all of your data.

If you own another computer with the same operating system, remove the disc drive from the bad machine and add it to the other machine. When you boot up you will see a D: drive. It is the bad drive. Use the antivirus product on the second machine to check for a virus. If you don't have an up-to-date antivirus product, go out to www.grisoft.com and download the internet security as a 'Try". You can use it for 30 days. It will find the virus. Then move the disc drive back to the original machine and boot it up. It should work fine. Once you do that, get the instructions on the "security tango" site and recheck the drive completely. That will make sure you don't miss any bad files behind.

hi... install the CD ROM drive , if already installed , update it . then error comes , post the error

You might want to run setup and see if that is way off. If so, replace the nickel cell battery on the motherboard. That saves the setup information, date and time etc. That goes, you never know. They only cost about $4

most likely cause of this is faulting cpu cooling if it haven't burned already check is cpu cooling ok as it may not turn on to protect from burndown due to faulty cooling also this may be damaged motherboard

ok e lock is i think is a software of acer, you need to put the password of elock on your usb port, before u acess that.

1. select "my computer", right click on cd drive, and click on eject

2. switch off pc,then manually eject cd tray by inserting a strong paper clip in the small pin hole on the front of the cd drive,insert the clip for about 1.5 cm (half inch) in the pin hole and you will feel it press on a lever to open the tray slightly.

The headphones need to be plugged into the green jack on the computer, your microphone needs to be plugged into the pink(red) jack on the computer.
