It could be just a driver problem. See if hp.com has a suitable driver for your printer.

Go to www.compaq.com and then click on support. Enter your product number in the space provided for it. Select your computer from the list. Click on download drivers and software. Select your operating system. Find the driver on the list provided and download it. Have fun!

go to hp website /type modle number name tell them what you want and they will give you list download /and update bios from there free

Click Start>Run and type msconfig. Select the startup tab and deselect everything. Reboot your computer and attempt to log into Windows. If you are successful you will need to access msconfig and re-enable programs systematically until you find the culpret.

Yes you have to delete the partitions making one large drive and then format it in NTFS as XP is more secure in this file system and utilizes the space better.

You can solve this by going into the bios setup & changing the boot order. Make the dvd/cd drive 1st in boot line then hdd. This should allow you to boot up from the windows xp disc. Hope this helps & please rate this solution fixya. Thanks.
