Toshiba Satellite L305-S5907 Laptop - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Spilled a drink on my keyboard and now 2 lights
Hello,
Unfortunately, the keyboard is most-likely shot. For an immediate (possible) solution is to connect an external keyboard. This might allow you to boot the system but it depends on how much damage the liquid did.
Replacement keyboard are fairly inexpensive (probably under $50) and usually fairly easy to replace as long as you have a basic understanding of computer hardware.
To get pricing on keyboards simply do a search by typing the laptop number " L305-S5907" and and the word "keyboard"
I do hope this helps and wish you the best of luck!!
Regards

My web came driver doesn't
We ran a typical
Toshiba Satellite L300 battery of tests, including games, applications, and a couple other areas. Time constraints limited the amount of testing we could get done before the NDA lift (and it's already a few hours late), but we will be providing a follow-up article with further testing and information. That said, if there are any specific areas that you'd like to see tested, feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment.

Toshiba media recovery satellite l300 series
Try cleaning the disk in soap and water / dry with a microfiber cloth or cotton towel . Then try your disk. If you don't get the proper response then I suspect a corrupt data disk or a malfunctioning DVD.

I AM UNABLE TO BURN OR COPY CD'S OR DVD'S
You need to reinstall the codex for the CD / DVD burner. If the burner came with the laptop you probably need to reinstall the drivers from the backup disks they gave you with the laptop. If you changed OS then you need to go get the new versions. Just go to the manufacturer's website (the manufacturer for the burners - not Toshiba) and get the new codex.

When i turn the power on it takes me to system
It takes you to system recovery either because your boot sector has been lost, or because your laptop is missing key files to run windows. The only solution is to allow recovery to run and replace your windows installation unless you have the original restore disk and can do a system recovery with that.

I need to reset the bios password on a toshiba
The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration. But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device.
TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE
You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector
http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle
Wire the pins as follows :-1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15
Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

Satellite l305-s5907 is plugged in but there is no
This sounds like it may be a DC power jack or the AC adapter. Did this happen suddenly or did it occur over a period of time? Have you had to jiggle the AC plug to get power? Look to see if the pin is broken off of the jack inside the plug hole or if it is loose when you plug it in. Or was the cord yanked on? If it did happen suddenly it could still be the DC power jack. They can go out by an arc of power and melt a nearby chip etc. or the jack plastic itself. If you can get intermittent power by moving the tip then it is almost surely the jack. I don't suggest continuing to do this as it will just make an inevitable repair worse and maybe even ruin your MB. You can also look at the AC adapter (unplugged to be safe). Check where it connects to the tip and goes straight to the plug. There is a flexible part there. The check the flexible parts of the cable near the adapter brick on both ends. If no luck it will need to be opened and have the jack looked at first then if that isn't it the MB. Make sure if you bring it somewhere they don't tell you it is a bad MB when it is a jack. One important note. This model has a DC harnessed jack meaning the DC jack isn't soldered to the MB but rather sits in a bracket and has wires that are soldered to the back that then go to a clip that connects to the MB. Often these wires break loose from the jack and just need to be soldered back on. Toshiba is sneaky with some by making the wires hidden inside a "secret trap door" so you can't see where they are soldered or if they broke loose. You can pop this plastic off the back and check the connections and often re-solder them back on. Use heat shrink over the exposed wire if you have it and put some epoxy over the connections and you should be good. Even better than new often.

Screen is black
Hi
Thank you for your query
The problem statement is vagur however am i right to assume, nothing comes on the screen even when powered up???
If so it would seem there is a LCD fault, most likely to do with the inverter, this is replaced quickly and normally isnt too expensive
In the mean time if you need the stuff on your laptop please hook up a external monitor and backup your data
Thereafter please book into a reputable PC shop
If this has been useful please leave postive feedback/vote

I can't get Active X to work on fire fox
That's because ActiveX is a proprietary Microsoft technology built into Internet Explorer only.
However, there is a Firefox plug-in "IE Tab" that lets you switch the rendering engine of Firefox to use IE internally. This will look like enabled ActiveX controls in the Firefox panel. Strictly speaking its not Firefox running them, its the hijacked IE running inside Firefox.

Can't find web camera on Toshiba Satellite L350
I think that the easiest fix for this kind of issue is to uninstall the camera, and then reinstall it. Before you uninstall, make sure that you have the installation files. If not, you can download it from the Toshiba site.
If you need the file, please inform me and I will guide you with the installtion.
