Laptop does not start!!!! Hi, I

yes, we have like 1000000000 posts here, LT does not start. endless it is.... and few come backs, to show whats up. its always the same reasons, short list. Ok, not on time did you say the word BIOS> did you know BIOS works with HDD/SSD removed forget the OS for now, if the BIOS ok called up the screen is ok if not, then its a catastrophic failure. you can even boot it with external, screens, 15pin pin VGA. if not its DEAD if BIOS IS DEAD, that is a clear 100% dead with battery out., so the power pack is bad. ever consider that, i keep them as spares, so if on say vacation mine blows out, i have a backup. with a good power pack the MOBO will work and will beep if you remove RAM. with special beeps, beeps are BIOS code running,... if it cant beep the MOBO is toasted. I uses a voltmeter on the rear of the power jack 19vdc is spec (the pack side tells you that in clear text) ok its got power. (even with power button pushed) ok power good, push power botton and i must get beeps BIOS one or the other, even with here are the LED flash codes on my hp 8540. hp.com has yours too, if you RTM ,read the service manual. for free nice how fixya wrecks photos. sad the blinks mean, gpu dead bios dead cpu dead ram dead and more, this laptop dont beep it only blinks so you must read the book to learn what YOURS does. blink1-f2pntdp44mjusq0choqk2alv-3-0.jpg true-blinks-f2pntdp44mjusq0choqk2alv-3-1.jpg

To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key. When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_address For information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Rotation on the screen

Screen Rotation? What is that? Are you talking about the resolution?Windows 7 is no better than Vista? Well maybe a tad bit better, it has issues. Maybe your screen is missing a windows 7 driver.Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Video drivers.

When I turn on my

Well I had this problem and fixed it for good finally. Things you will need.

3 pennies
solider
heat gun
pliers
foil

First you remove the motherboard. Which you can find on youtube. Then remove heatsink with 4 screws. And 2 screw with the fan.

Next take the heat gun and heat up the aluminum block that isattached to the heatsink. It is the only thing that looks like a silver square. Heat it up and use the plier to pull it off.

Next take the pennies and clean them real well. I use the pliers to scratch them up real good. Put one on your range and take alittle solder and put it on top. Turn the range on high and wait for the solder to melt. When it does put the next penny then more solder and then the third penny. Now take a the pliers and push down on the top penny and turn off the range let it cool before you remove the pliers. Now you have a stack of pennies solder together.

Now where you removed the metal block, Turn it over to the side with the copper pipe. heat it upwith the heat gun and fill in the gap between the pipe and the plate of copper.

Once that is done flip it over. Now put alittle solder on the spot where you plulled off the block. Heat it up with the heat gun again and put the stack of pennies on it. Make sure it centered. Let it cool and the heat sink is done.

Now go to the motherboard the second biggest chip there is the graphics chip. Make a foil square cut out a hole big enough for that chip. The chip should have a red type of glue around the corners. Put the heat gun 1 inch away for about15 secs then let cool. Once cool do it one more time for 15 secs.

After that you should be ok put the heat sink and motherboard in the case with 1 stick of ram and plug in the screen. Plug in the ac and try it out.

Mine has been working for 10 hours straight.

My computer does not seem to boot up when I switch

You've got a failed backlight - requires a new inverter assy - not an easy component to replace.

32bit vista to 64bit win7

your recovery manager files should be on drive D or other partition. if not then its gone. but the operating system cd that goes with your laptop is still better than the factory default anyway but the thing is, youll need the cd everytime you want to reformat.

if i where you, il go for 32bit win 7 since your computer used to be a 32 bit vista. no worries about making the most out of your computer since win 7 eats less than vista anyway. and go for 32 bit since your laptop is made for 32 bit.

Ya qusay,

I tried to get a picture of your keyboard but could not get one clear enough.
Your laptop is a Tablet PC:
1.You can use the keyboard to type documents;
2. you can also use a stylus.to write.
3. You can rotate the screen and hold the computer on your left arm( as you do a slate) and write with the stylus on the screen.
4. Probably it has a touch sensitive screen.

I suggest that you take the time to learn to use it, starting with the manual that was shipped with it. It will be rewarding.

Hope it encourages you to discover the special qualities of your Tablet PC.

My Hp HP Pavilion tx2510us

Screen doesn't work at all? You get no picture?

Please try External monitor see if you get picture on external monitor, if you don't get picture, try pressing down the FN button together with one of the F1-F12 buttons, one of them will swap the display from the internal to the external.

If you still don't get picture at all the laptop is not starting up, this is most of the time caused by a hardware failure, are you in warranty?

You can try reseating the memory modules on the laptop, remove the battery and power adapter, turn the laptop upside down, unscrew the memory cover, remove the memory modules.

3158503.jpg

Remove both modules, then turn the laptop over, plug in the power adapter and try turning on the laptop, it may beep, it wont start up, let it run for 1 minute, then unplug power.

turn the laptop over and insert the other ram module into the other slot, turn the laptop over and try starting up again, does the laptop start up?

If it does not start up, unplug power, turn over, remove ram module, place it in other slot, try turning on, if it still does not work. Repeat steps with other memory module.

If the laptop still does not start up, reinsert memory modules and close the cover, mainboard or video adapter is possibly faulty.

contact hp for warranty or out of warranty repair.

We can not repair failed motherboard or video adapter at home, video adapter is build into mainboard most of the time, not fixable at home.
