Mty Marty wants answers to this question are you posting to the year 2018, we cant tell , using this form of Hyjacking . Tell what PC you own, tell what OS is running. mry, why not go to acer and get your drivers. we are not ACER. at all. its visto computer only way to downgrade it to xp is to look for your drivers used in vista from manufacturers site to collect xp drivers. do get the drivers names u can use the acer download page to see what drivers for xp is needed.

acer does not provide xp drivers for this laptop.

Double check that the Wi-Fi didn't accidentally get turned off. There should be a button on your computer that turns it on and off or a fn key usually fn+f2. Try that first if that doesn't solve the issue try reinstalling your driver which can be found at the following site.

You will need to contact Acer tech support as the Launch Manager software is exclusive to Acer Inc, if it is missing then you may have to do a reset, but when upgrading to 8.1 it may not install with the upgrade, have you tried the Acer support on their website?

Try blowing the dust away from the cooler ( look on the sides for the breather ... and sometimes is on the bottom .. ) an you can use any air compressor or compressed air cans. you gonna thing Im crazy ... but works every time ! :)

try and reduce the sensitivity of the cursor go to control panel then to mouse then on the tab select pointer options and reduce the speed if that dosent wotk get a usb mouse and uninstall the driver for the touchpad/synaptics and try to reinstall it.

when you take out battery it resets unit lose stuff

Optical drives (cd/dvd) for the most part don't requires drivers in the sense other hardware does. That's why they work during boot. Make sure it has power (ejects). Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Now delete all DVD/CD-ROMs and reboot. Windows will say "New Hardware Found" and install. Check BIOS by pressing F key (correct F key is noted during boot) and make sure BIOS see's the Optical Drive.
