This model do not need a driver for connecting to windows xp ..it wil install auto ..as a removable storage device ..and you will find it in My computer folder ..Just drag the files into this folder ..(into the audio folder )
The firmware updates are also not available ..on the support site.....If you have trouble powering it up ...use the reset button ..located into the side or bottom hole ..(just press it with a sharp object ...when it is powered on ..and keep pressing until restarts..This will reset ti to factory settings ..)

What you need to do is have your videos set to be converted by the MTV convertor that came with the device. It's usually on a mini disk.

You have to download the software and then input the video you want to convert.

The thing is that not any video will be recognized by the software. You'll need to convert most stuff to .avi files first.

For example, if you download a non-copy righted clip from youtube, you have to convert that to .flv format. (I recommend keepvid.com) Then you need to run that that to an .avi format. For that I would use MediaEncoder from sourceforge.

iTunes is not in MP3 format so they will not play on an MP3 player. They use a modified ACC file extension that is only reconized by Apple products.

It works the same as an external memory device. When you plug the USB into the computer, it should show up as another drive. Open the drive, then drop files in the correct folder....MP3 files go in MUSIC, and AVI & WMV goes in VIDEO,etc...
The ematic comes with software to convert video into 320x240, and it comes out great.

Are you using the charging cables that came with it? That is a type C. Are you securely attaching the charging cable? A loose connection would keep the battery from charging. If you had a low battery, you would see a red light. That you have no light at all suggests there is no charge left in the battery. I'm not sure the reset will work with no charge which is why you ought to check the cables first. But turn it off and then hold down the Multifunction button for 10 seconds to reset it.
