You can get the unlock code by contacting your current service provider customer care department. If your phone is locked you can use any of your friends phone to make this call. The service provider will then provide you the unlocking codes. Everything is done for free of cost and you are not going to be charged for this process.

Another alternative is, you can take the phone to any authorize phone service center to help unlock the phone, because to unlock your phone, you will need some kind of software, USB cable etc to unlock the phone, so you can also go a nearby phone service center to unlock the phone, but calling your network service provider is the best because they have the records of your phone and can easily help to unlock it. Generally a phone should not overheat. They get very hot but i've never actually seen one overheat to a level where it damages hardware. It is more likely that the battery has overheated and sacrificed itself instead of the phone. You could try a replacement battery to see if that solves the problem (if you can replace them yourself that is!).

However if the phone is actually fried then I'd bet it is cheaper to buy a new one than diagnose the burnt out piece and replace it.

Hi,The best and only way to get the unlock code for your pantech,is to contact the service provider who sold the phone to you and request for the unlock code,however,they might be asking some funny questions,just tell them you are travelling to a country where they are not situated and you need to use the phone when you get there,afterwards the code will be given to you for free.so easy.

If you have insurance on the phone I would go for the easy way first. They usually ship within 24 hours and you are back in business. If you don't have insurance, the only thing you can do is gently open the cellphone by popping open the cover.......gently. Take a hairdryer on low speed and low heat and try to dry the inside of the phone. Let it sit for a couple days after drying. Put the cover back on and try it again. Dry the battery as well,DO NOT open the battery! Bottom line,you may be looking at a new phone. The insurance route if applicable, is the way to go. At least you know its a new. Hope this helps.

Base from the description of your problem this can be a settings problem, what you can do here is to reset or restore the phone to its default settings and once you have done that check if its now working, but if still the same problem a software update is need for this phone.

the batteries dead. you need a new one because after the battery dies it wont awknowledge the charger or battery. same thing happened to me. honestly this phone is a piece of ****. youre gonna have a lot more problems ttrust me. im having a problem with it now.

Usually a sign of moisture damage check the sensors on the battery and underneath the battery on the phone, if neither is red then you can get swapped out by the verizon store under warranty.
