mcdevito75 here, Look for any kind of lip on the clasp you can slip a finger nail under to lift, also look along side of the clasp as this clasp may have tabs you simply squeeze to open it. If this fails, simply stop into any small watch repair shop in your area for help.

The 4 second ticking indicates the battery is in need of replacing.

A professional watchmaker can properly replace the battery for you.

This deviation is perfectly acceptable. Even a certified chronometer may deviate -4 to +6 seconds per 24 hour period so you should be pleased with +2 seconds.

It is highly unlikely that any exchange will fair better. Also, the deviation will depend on the position of the watch. So, if you wear it, you will know its average deviation much better.

Ebel are an expensive watch so yes please take it to a reputable jeweller who will remove the back of the watch with a special tool without scratching it and replace the battery, usually without charge and only charging for the battery

kori, I think your watch needs cleaning. Take it to a good repairman/jeweller. These are hard to find watches and you must keep it.

This is for a woman's watch but may apply to yours. You need to remove the screws around the bezel of the front of the watch (not accessed through the rear like most watches).Be sure to use the correct size screwdriver to avoid marring the screws. Then you will need to remove the half of the split stem attached to the crown. Remove the movement from the front, replace the cell, lube the gaskets, and reassemble.This has been asked before. the crystal is not properly attached it may have tiny opening where moisture goes inside. you have to bring it to watch service center immediately to avoid much bigger problem. i hope i had been helped you.

You can only get the push button only in the Ebel swiss service centre.You cant buy it online.Since it is very costly watch you have to buy the original parts in their service centre.

An automatic watch can have many of the same issues as a wind up because that is what it is essentially. This means that you could have a main spring issue or standard maintenance issue. The watch should be overhauled and oiled about every 4-5 years.

most jewerly stores that sell watches will be able to put that screw in they would even have them too.

I take mine back to the jewelry store where I bought it. They send it away to an ebel service center where they replace the battery, clean it, etc. I have had mine replace several times in the 20 years I've had the watch. I was told that it must be done by an authorized Ebel place.

The really nice thing about your watch is that when you need a battery, the watch gives you a 30 day notice by having the second hand do what I call " a triple step" where the watch keeps time, but youe second hand goes 3-4 steps real fast and then stops. Please take your watch to a reputable watch repairman, because your watch has a Cartier movement , and NOBODY but Cartier has the parts for your watch if somebody who dosn.t know what they are doing messes it up.
