When can I paddle with kayak?

You can, but it's all about compromise ? and safety. Generally, the shorter the boat the easier it will turn (great for rivers and white water), but the slower you'll be getting from point A to point B. The longer the boat (most sea kayaks) the better it generally tracks and the faster and safer it travels through water.

Safe touring kayak

A boat designed for greater touring distances and a higher degree of safety would have a smaller cockpit, hatches and bulkheads. The smaller cockpit allows for contact with your knees for control. The hatches and bulkheads are designed to be, for the most part, air- and watertight. You can store gear (in dry bags) in these as well as have hundreds of pounds of positive buoyancy should your cockpit fill with water.

New Pungo 140, rear bulhead

Brand new boat? Let them replace it, it's a manufacturing defect! The bulkhead probably was slightly too large or the sealant was poorly applied, either way you don't want the headache yourself. Wilderness systems and their dealers tend to be VERY reasonable with this type of problem. If it were an older boat or one you had used extensively, I would recommend removing the old sealant and then laying down thick beads of a high quality silicone sealant such as Lexel on both sides of the bulkhead.

I have a very old

Plastic? Cheap and quick way would be to try to fill the hole -- small you said -- with good caulking and then stuff the inside of that end with a plug of something to support the seal. Duct tape on the outside to protect the seal. Not sure what you mean about the bow covering.

Water is entering into the stern hatch. The foam

If it is dry, and you don't need to access it, about the best thing to use to seal it is silicone caulk. I paddle whitewater and that stuff is the bomb. There are some other glues (like the ones they use for foam pads), but they are extremely expensive. Tube of silicone 5 bucks. Also, in a pinch on the water, duct tape it.

Length og a kayak

The longer the boat the faster the hull speed. So if your friends are paddling kayaks that are seventeen feet long and you are in a twelve-foot kayak, you'll be paddling much harder just to keep up. If you intend to paddle on smaller bodies of water, say ponds or small lakes where distance is not a factor, length is not so important. But if you live (or plan to paddle) on a bay, then you should consider more of a touring boat which will track straighter and move through the water with greater stability as well as speed.

Need to sell my Kayak plus associated equipment.

The usual places to advertise are local online markets such as Kijiji or Used(city).com or similar sites. Better places are often run by major clubs or associations, MEC in Canada, or major websites about kayaking and canoeing. paddling.net is one example.

I just bought a new boat and need to buy a boat

Never buy a trailer with the same capacity as the weight of your boat! This can be very dangerous! Instead, make sure the trailer's capacity is at least twice that of the weight of the boat, all your gear, and the boat's motor.

2017 Tracker 17.5 ft. boat. How can I remove batteries from it please.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to Boating. Hello Anonymous Harriet :>D You will have two or possibly 3 batteries. Usually a large car type starting battery for starting the engine. Then two Deep Cycle Gel Batteries, one for the marine electronics, fish finder etc, and another that powers the front bow mounted Trolling motor. You will find them in the deck lockers. Open them, release any tie downs, undo the cables and lift them out for Winter storage. I keep mine in my garage and I put them on a battery minder for 24 hours once a month. I have the Battery Tender Junior, and I put them on a 6 amp car charger before the season starts. https://www.google.com/search?q=Battery+Tender https://www.google.com/search?q=2017+tracker+175+remove+battery The information you gave is is merely the year of manufacture, the maker and the length. They all have model numbers. That would be the key to searching for a manual online. https://www.jdpower.com/boats/2017/tracker-marine/pro-guide-v-175-wt__/32067137/specs and https://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=969900 ..

Yanmar 4BY2 with 1000 hours overheats when run above 2000 rpm - this is new, she cruises at 3500 rpm all day when running OK. Loses 1 gal water in 5 min at 3200 rpm. No visible leaks, smoke.

Commonly caused by clogged air filter. Also suspect buildup in exhaust mixing elbow. Smoke will build up carbon deposits over time and clog them. What color is the smoke? unburnt fuel will smoke and cause heat. Could be a fuel pump or dirty/bad injector not atomizing fuel correctly. If smoke is steam.... If there isn't proper flow or there is air in raw water system, the air hits heat exchanger and immediately turns to steam. Will result in overheating.

My 40 hp mer user.40elptefi dies if not connected to battery

It's electronic fuel injection so it needs power to run. Mercury is usually a yellow wire from stator that goes to a voltage regulator that charges battery when running. Good luck!!
