If you are using fuel this rapidly, I would not run this engine until I took it to a Professional and have them go through the entire fuel system!! This could be leaking fuel into the engine and draining out from the bottom of the cowling... IT CAN BE/IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION = FIRE!!!
You have a trim tab under the cavitation plate(or you should, it looks like a little fin upside down..its right above the prop. Make sure it is nearly straight. Make sure your motor is not (mounted) too far down in the water. Power steering will HELP!!
This is an issue a professional needs to address, Sometimes they can see what you don't. If the cable/linkage is not adjusted to factory specs you could have more trouble!!
OOOPPSSS.. this is a common issue after some updates... you might have to uninstall the updates!! Bird's are notorious for not taking updates and still working as before.. call humminbird service.
