Need motor & impellor for Hobart AM8
I havn't seen an AM8 in over 15 years.
Hobart will keep parts available for quite a few years past end of production, but this may be too long. The AM 10 and early 12's are compatable.
You need a 6 bolt pump to motor. Yours has the old cast iron wash arms. All the new have light stainless arms. Just checked my records. the new AM12 which superceeded your design was in 1981. Perhaps look around for a used AM14 which fits your tables and plumbing. Confirm the voltage is compatable.
The AM15 is the current spec and is far superior.
AM-14 'Hot Motor' l.e.d staying lit.
1. The motor has thermistors(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermistor ) installed internally. They are monitored by the control board to protect the motor from overheating and burning itself out should a fork or some other object find it's way into the pump and jam it.
2. More than likely, the thermistors have gone bad. I've yet to see the hot motor led light for any other reason.
The board can be "tricked" into thinking the motor is cool at all times but it requires bypassing the overheat protection circuit. Replacing the motor like you stated, is the proper thing to do. I'd be really surprised if after replacement your light didn't go out. All the best.
This dishwasher is older than most living people
Your AM9 is too old to get new parts from Hobart.
Why does the inverter need to run when the machine is not in use? There must be a breaker to turn it off.
If you decide to replace it, any AM series will fit your tables. Don't buy anything older than AM14.
For a HOBART AM14C I have a faulty ccc (294551B).
HI,
ACCORDING TO THE SPECS IVE SEEN ON BOTH BOARDS YOU ARE CORRECT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME BOARDS AND THEY DON'T CROSS REFERENCE TO EACH OTHER EITHER I WOULD RETURN THE BOARD TO GET THE CORRECT ONE.
HOPE THIS HELPS GOOD LUCK.
No water pressure in rinse cycle
AM 14's need 20 PSI flow rate of rinse. Is your pressure gauge accurate? Could the rinse nozzles be blocked with scale? If you remove them to clean, make sure they go back in the same positions. Note the upper arm has one each side pointing up, to clean the top of the machine. Check that the upper rinse arm has it's thrust washer under it's hub.
Hobart am 14 constant power on rps 1+2, rinse
DPS1 and 2 are fed from L1 and L2 directly.
RPS1 and 2 get their signal from a relay, triggered during fill or rinse. Check inside the control box for the machine schematic and component location. Check that the relay only powers during fill and rinse. Check for welded relay contacts.
Note. Soap and rinse dispenses are often spliced into AM14's in unusual ways, and with unprotected pump circuits. (no fuses) These can be too much current draw for the contact rating of the relay.
Need to find model of my DW. It is a passtrough
You probably have a hobart am-12,13 or 14.Remove the front cover below the door and look to the top right for the data plate, look to the right side door top back for it or look on the outside right of the control box.
Random starting by itself
Does this happen all the time?Is the door closed and are they bent?If you stand in front of the unit on the right door up top is there a grey looking capsule (door magnet) is it loose?Next to it should be another capsule which has a switch inside.I would make sure these 2 capsules are tight.Let me know.I'm a hobart tech.
Rinse probe
If standing in front of the dishwasher, look to the right in the back on top you will see a valve and guage. You will see the rinse/fill pipe and the probe screws into that.I'm a hobart tech--Any questions let me know.
Dishwasher does not spray hot water
Can you give me a little more detail? Is this part inside or outside the machine?Any wires connected to it?What do you mean by base water source?I'm a hobart tech.
