Why won't the burners light even when I smell gas and hear igniter clicking?
Bill, two things possibly going on here that are common with an aging grill. First you need to turn off the fuel tank and set it aside. you mention that a clicking can be heard when pushing the igniter button which usually indicates good battery but if you have never changed it you may want to just as a good measure. Unscrew the bottom and you should find AA or AAA battery behind it. Now with battery good and the igniter generating a fast load clicking sound you want to get down and follow the wire that runs from the the back side of the igniter push button down inside and usually under the burner tubes ending out at one end of each burner. What happens when you press the igniter switch is, an electrical current is sent down the wire and when it reaches the end the current jumps to the closest metal it can find creating a spark.so you need to insure that the end of the wire is close to where the flame is generated but not so close that that you cant see a spark. Make sure the end of the wire is bare and clean as is the area on the burner where it arcs Now do this to all for burners. Turn all the knobs on the grill off and connect the tank. Make sure the lid is open now, and slowly open the valve on the tank. I say slowly like a ten count from close to full open. what can happen if you crank the tank valve open too quickly or with the grills valves open a vapor-lock effect can be created greatly reducing the flow of fuel from the tank. Iv'e seen many of the uninformed return 1/2 full tanks due to this problem. If you notice week flame or no flame but smell gas ALWAYS SHUT OFF VALVE ON TANK IMMEDIATELY KEEP LID OPEN AND LET THE AREA VENT BEFORE TRYING AGAIN lest you be the one being barbecued. Good Luck
Flame height is very low when burners are on high
It is most likely the regulator especially if all the burners are at the same height. This is a common problem. If you grill is under a year old go into sears and they should be able to replace it for free. (the regulator is the round metal piece that conects to your propane tank.
Replaced the tank but now
Hopefully this will fix you up.
- Turn off the gas at the propane tank
- Disconnect the gas line from the tank
- Open the grill lid
- Turn all control valves to high
- Wait for about a minute
- Turn all control valves to off
- Reconnect the gas line to the tank
- SLOWLY turn on the gas at the tank
- Light the grill normally
Your grill should now heat normally
Gas wont flow through grill

Sorry no luck with a manual either, but here is a review - this guy might be worth getting in touch with:

Other alternative is to borrow a 12 year old boy and let him get on with it.
Sears are about as much help as leprosy - please complain to their customer "service" people in the hope that they might improve.
Hope this helps, the review is not too encouraging i'm afraid :)
Good luck
Kenmore Master Flame Grill
Hello,
Burner will not light:
Here is a couple things you can check:
1. Gas injector not insert in venturi tube.
2. Clogged gas injector
3. Obstruction in gas line.
4.Spider webs in venturi tubes.
5. Misalignment Of collector box and burner.
6.Dead Battery.
7.Check hose to make sure it is not kinked
8.Check Hose to make sure it wasn't chewed by squirrles
9. If it is LP gas, Could be out of gas.
Other Issues:
Could be the way the grill was turned on and off, that also can be an issues. In your manual it will tell you how to do it proper, this could make it not light or have a low flame. If there is not hing in your manual, I will be happy to assist you.

Since it's a Kenmore grill and Kenmore is a house brand name of Sears. Have you tried calling your local Sears or K-Mart store? If you did and weren't successful, simply measure your grill (Height, Width & Depth) and armed with that information, visit any home improvement center or hardware store that sells grills and accessories and I'm sure you will find one that fits.
Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling!!

Question, when you pull off the knob do you see a screw on the front of the valve? Since the grill was converted, there are times where manufacturers use gas specific valves and the screw is there as an adjustment. Let me know.
