Your digital panel may still be under warranty. It may be worth your while to have a tech look at it. Something else is going on here.

Have you had a chance to fix it yet ? The wire has probably come off or burned off keeping it from working. Feel the element to see if it has any rough spots in it. This will indicate it is burned up on the inside.

Try pushing and holding the door shut. Then moderately tap on the door where the latch is and it may come loose. Usually it is mechanical and not electrical here. Could also be if you have a self cleaner on it, that it is reading that you are cleaning the oven. If the first thing does not work, then turn off your breaker for about 15 seconds and then back on. Sometimes it may reset itself and put it back in working order.

Yes you can replace it. It is a gasket that seals the oven when it is being used. It is heat resistant and vital to the operation of the oven. It is like running and A/C with the windows open.

I hope by now it is working. You have probably knocked a wire off or actually have broken the burner itself. Can you check it for continuity. It may not appear to be broken but the coil on the inside may be depending on how hard the board hit the element.

Make sure the wires are on the control switch. They may be burned off.

It sounds like that is what it is. Purchase it yourself from a local appliance parts place, not a dealer. It will cost you much more. To install it is easy. Just replace wire for wire.

You have either a burned our lower element or a wire has burned off at the terminal for that element. The good news is that the lower element is cheaper.

Yes, take a pair of pliers to pullout the hinges. They are springloaded and it seems hard but they are designed to keep the door shut tight.

Check your breakers and also your wiring. Try to turn off the breakers for about 10-15 seconds. Your board inside the control panel may be bad since you are getting mixed signals.

Depending on your fuse rating #8 should cover it.

Kenmore 47783... | Answered on Jan 05, 2009

From what you say you seem to have no power to the oven, Check for blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, check connections in plug. do you have a reset button anywhere, check your user manual.

If the breaker won't reset, then you have a fault with your oven, probably an element blown.
If it does reset o/k, and still does not go, then I suspect that you have no power at the oven.
You will need to gain access to the cable entry at the rear of the oven and check the wiring and connections
Plz leave feedback.
Thanks.
