My bow flex tradclimber 5000

Welcome to FixYa.

Calibration errors can occur in the TreadClimber in the speed and step sensor, the heart rate monitor, the motor or the belt rollers. These errors can occur due to slippage in the belt, mechanical malfunction or if the machine was not calibrated properly during initial usage. Calibration issues can also occur if there is a power outage while the machine is plugged in.

Prevention/Solution
If the electronic sensors in the machine are incorrect or the belts stop turning with an "err LS" or "err OS" message displayed on the screen, you must carry out a general recalibration of the machine. Unplug the machine and then plug it back in. Stand to the side of the machine and turn it on. Insert the safety key into the console display. It will then show a "CAL...PRSS...STRT" message. Press the "Start" key to begin the calibration and do not interrupt it while the machine carries out the procedure. When calibration is finished, the screen will display "CAL...PASS."

If the calibration fails again, the machine needs to be serviced since mechanical errors are repairable by changing some parts inside the electronic boards.

Thank you for using Fixya. Have a great day.

E1 error code

hi,
You have to check the speed sensor inside your machine. There will be two wire from the control board to the lover side of you machine. At the end of that wire you can see the speed sensor. Which will be placed near the motor pulley to count the rpm. Clean the sensor and remove and reinstall the white connector in that wire.

Error Code E1

I had the same error message E1 at 10 seconds according to the LCD display on an older Treadclimber TC1000. I called Bowflex 1-800-792-6784 and first thing they told me was to check the drive sensor on the back left corner of machine. It is two wires connected by 2 white connectors that snap together. The end of the sensor has a rubber cap that is supposed to be approximately 1/8 inch from the drive pulley. The rubber cap plugs into a small hole within the "firewall" of the drive pulley, but the end of the cap does not actually touch anything. They can email you a picture of it. If it ever gets knocked loose, the machine will register this e1 error, in some cases- hope this helps.getattachment.aspx&hm__qs=file%3d3d2f2ee0-2668-46ea-b32c-db049d56cb37.jpg%26ct%3daw1hz2uvanblzw_3d_3d%26name%3daw1hz2uwmdiuanbn%26inline%3d1%26rfc%3d0%26empty%3dfalse%26imgsrc%3dcid%253aimage002.jpg%254001c99c08.13bd6320&oneredir=1&ip=10.12.128.8&d=d6608&mf=0&a=01_0b590aaade5e800af268d347750ab151eca93264be20cd9ce2166e583b18cfe9

Hello, I also have a 928 and we removed the top section to get it through the door. Do you by any chance have the user manual as I was hoping you could scan a page for me.

Hey we moved my treadclimber tc5000 and now it

there could be several reasons why but i think that you have bumped a wire loose somewhere else. look and see on the control board that wires havent come loose. also check the wires from the console down to the control board. i have fixed several treadmils from people complaining about this same problem.

My bowflex treadclimber starts for abut 3sec then

The machine needs to be re-calibrated if its an L5 error.
Your speed sensor must have been damaged either during shipping or use. You'll need a new one. If under warranty - give Bowflex a call. They will ship you out a new sensor and guide you through installing it via the phone... re-calibrating the machine... and getting it operational again. It will take about 2 hours.

I have bowflex treadclimber tc5000,

This is a common issue caused by a frequent assembly problem, made worse by the tools sent along with the TC for
assembly. To fix it, you need the following:

1. A GOOD 5/8" wrench (not the piece of junk that came with the TC).
2. A Phillips screwdriver at least 3" long.
3. Two books at least 1" thick.
4. One book about 3/8": thick, or two magazines
5. A vacuum cleaner with a hose.
6. The Treadclimber Manual. If you don't have it, get it online at the company's web-site.

Lock the treadles (see manual) such that the TC is just a treadmill.

Turn off the TC, unplug it, and remove the power cord.

Leaning the TC first left, then right, put the 1" books about 2/3 of the way towards the back under each side. This will left the rear of the machine slightly off the ground, making the following steps much easier.

Now use the Phillips screwdriver to remove three screws on each of the two rear-most plastic covers at the base of the machine. Remove the covers. Put the screws in the covers so you don't lose them. Note that the top screw is recessed deeply into a hole in the cover!

Removing the side covers has exposed 4 more Phillips screws that hold the back plastic cover in place. Remove them, and the cover will slip off (thanks to those two big books).

Everything is dusty dirty. Use the vacuum cleaner to clean it up. You'll thank me later when you don't sneeze your brains out.

Now, behind where the back plastic cover was, and across the back of the machine, are four big bolt-heads. These are the bolts that hold the tread assembly to the base of the machine. They're probably loose. If they're not loose already, use that wrench to loosen them a bit. Either way, things are out of whack.

Go around to the front of the machine. Use the small book or the magazines to wedge the right treadle away from the upright such that the treadles are evenly spaced between the two. Don't over-do it and reverse the problem! (This is a lot easier than yelling at your spouse or significant other to "hold it, hold it" while you complete the next step.) What you want is the two treadles nicely spaced between the front uprights. Trust me, the right treadle will hold that spacer.

Go back to the rear of the machine. Using the 5/8" wrench, tighten the four bolds VERY tight. Use some muscle. The fact that they were loose was the cause of the issue.

Now go to the front. Pull out the book/magazines that you were using as a spacer between the right treadle and the upright. Do the treadles look like they're now evenly spaced between the uprights? If so, pat yourself on the back. If not, then loosen the bolts and try again, adjusting the thickness of the front "spacer" as needed.

Put the rear cover back on. Don't over-do the tightness of the screws on this (or the other) cover(s)!

Put the left and right covers back on. Take care with these, they're a bit delicate, especially the top screws. If the little rubber posts fall out of the top screws, finesse them back in.

Don't forget to re-calibrate the machine (per that manual) after you finish.

You'll now discover in most cases that a lot of issues with uneven action are now cured. Any rub marks on the right upright can be removed with the same silicone spray that is recommended for the belts.

Enjoy.

We canNOT get the belt

Can you describe your machine type (TC5000, for example) and what you've done to try and reposition the belt? Also which belt are you referring to? The treadle belt or the motor belt? I just went through a complete deck/walking belt replacement, and it's not for the faint of heart. Needed to dismantle almost 85% of the machine.

My new treadclimber 5000

You will need to remove the plastic covers and locate the step sensor. This will be close to one of the arms. There is a magnet mounted to the arm and the sensor reads every time the magnet passes by. The sensor should be a credit cards width from the magnet. If it is and it still isn't reading you may need to replace it. You can call the bowflex company and they can send you one.
