I have never seen a hard (CD) copy of this applications guide, the tutorials and gides are of course freely down loadable on the open office site here:

You CAN buy hard copies of the guides from here:

Personally, I'd download the guides and convert them to Acrobat and burn to a CD

This sounds like user rights restriction. You'll need to log in on a power user or administrator account, or you can right-click the OpenOffice icon and from the popup menu select Run as Administrator. This is of course for the Windows operating system. If you're using Linux then user rights are managed differently and you'll need to check with some Linux forums.

If this was helpful please vote with a Thumb Up. Thanks.

I have downloaded openoffice and have no idea how

Go here: http://documentation.openoffice.org/

Look for DOWNLOAD DOCUMENTATION section.
Select the top link, specifically the file type you'd like. PDF is probably what you'll want. Page 12 is where they begin to talk about Windows installation. I'm assuming, of course, that you're using windows, but if this isn't correct simply use the index to find what you need.

Good luck!

Good day. I have enjoyed OpenOffice

The problem is simple: the hyperlinks are pointing to documents on your "original" computer, rather than pointing to documents on your portable disk-drive, or to documents on the USB memory-stick.

So, on another computer, the hyperlink still is pointing to a file (on your computer) that no longer is accessible. Thus, only a "blank" page is being displayed.

Fix the hyperlink(s), and everything will be fine.
