Belt won't stay on floor tool
The most common reason is the belt but since you replaced that it may be the brushroll. Check to insure it will spin freely. The motor shaft and brushroll must be parallel to each other. If the motor is not mounted securely it could cause the belt to come off. Turn the brushroll slowly by hand and carefully observe to see if you can see what could be causing it to come off.

It could be the wires or switch in the hose and/or the connection between the hose and the vacuum. It could be the power cord or a loose or bad wire inside the canister. It could be the carbon brushes in the motor are worn out. To find a short or electrical problem you need to know how to trace the power flow from the plug and cord all the way to the motor. You can test the wiring in the hose with an electrical tester to see if there is a problem with it before you purchase a new one.

By your description it seems that You have telephone wire used. You only need two low voltage wires to complete the circuit to turn on the power to the central vacuum unit. The low voltage wires must be arranged so that when you insert the hose into any valve it closes the circuit. You will wire it as if the black and red are just one wire and the green and yellow are the other, they are actually doing exactly the same as if you only had two wires.

Sorry about that . Before you bury it see if there is a reset button you can push to reset it. Most Vacs have reset buttons. Check electrical wires and plugs to make sure they are ok. Is the plug outlet you plug it into working. These are things that you can check. did it die or did you break a belt. Does it try to start but won't.If I could see it it would be easier to know but these are just ideas. Good Luck.
