Is the ice maker getting water ?
Is the wire that senses that the ice tray has filled up down in the empty tray or up in the off position?

Is the freezer section cold enough to make ice ?
Is ice in the tray waiting to be dumped or water in the tray that is not freezing or is the tray dry ?

how can we answer when you give us no information.

You need to contact a service tech to look at this, the problem can be anything from the Thermostat not working or a leak in the refrigerant or a bad controller Board.

Hi.

The trim is held by clips, this are carefully removed working on the edges of the trim with a padded knife. Be careful, as if you do it wrong you can damage the fridge paint coat.

there is about 25 different causes for your problem. most common is water valve is not working this is a dual valve one side for the icemker . other most most common is a frozen inlet to icemker . and it may be the ice maker it self. . do ck the tempt in freezer it must be 15 deg or lower . to about 5 deg . and if not first clean the coils under neath and ck the fan . both of them the other being in the freezer . and if this hasn't worked get back with me and welll go over some of the other's mm

Hi,

Yes the fan will always continue to run to allow for the air to be circulated in the freezer compartment.

Due to various reasons this problem could occur:
1)Check the temperature setting.
Set it to max and min and check for any changes you can see in the system.
2)The compressor vents cold air into the freezer. Occasionally the vent can become clogged with ice, food or other debris. Locate the vent and clear it. To remove ice, use a hair dryer set to "low". Using the high setting may cause damage to the components or interior of the refrigerator.
3)Test the temperature control
With the ohm meter you can test it.If it does not show any reading this is the defective one you have to relplace this soon.
4)First and simplest thing is to make sure your condenser coils on the back of the fridge usually, are clean and have adequate air circulation. If you pull the fridge away from the wall you can just brush them off or use the brush on your vacuum.
5)Check for a clogged drain tube if it is clogged remove the clog.
6)Test the evaporator fan.The evaporator fan circulates air over the refrigeration
coils. The coils absorb heat and the chilled air is then circulated. If the fan does not operate, the freezer will not cool properly. The fan motor may have failed, but check first that something is not simply blocking the fan blade.
7)Defrost timer:Usually the defrost timer could solve this issue. It may be located below or back of the refrigerator. Some times it may be located in the side to for side refrigerator.Locate the timer and rotate the clutch head screw clockwise until you hear one audible click. That puts the system into defrost mode. If the system restarts after 30-35 minutes. Then there is no problem with Defrost timer.
8)Heater and defrost thermostat is located behind the back wall of the freezer section. This only controls the Heat. After the Defrost timer stops it makes the system warm.
Defrost thermostat could be defective.

Hello,

Find your route to the water line. Drill a hole in the floor behind the refrigerator and thread the copper tubing into the basement. Go to the basement and find the main water line and pull the copper tubing to it.

Step 2
Attach pipe to refrigerator. Go back up to the kitchen and attach the end of the copper tubing to the water pipe of the refrigerator. You can use a nut and ferrule to connect the tube to the fridge. Make sure to leave a little bit of copper tubing coiled behind the fridge so as to not disconnect the tubing when moving the fridge.

Step 3
Turn off the water. With the fridge all hooked up, go back to the basement and turn off the water. Find the cold water pipe and drill a 1/4-inch hole to accommodate the copper tubing.

Step 4
Attach valve to pipe. You need to attach the water valve to the main pipe. This allows you to control the flow of water to the refrigerator. Make sure you have a gasket to seal between the valve and main water pipe.

Step 5
Connect the copper tubing. With the valve connected to the main water pipe, connect the copper tubing using a clamp. This should be everything you need. Turn on the main water and you should be able to get a glass of water, but it will take an hour or two for the ice cubes to freeze.

Take care..

Hello,

The most common problem is the condenser under the refrigerator is clogged with lint. Pull the unit away from the wall for clearance, tip it rearward, and have someone use a vaccum on the dust. Unplug the unit while working on it and remove what can slide around be careful not to damage the works underneath, as dirt is the whole problem.................. Get it clean as you can and reset to factory settings and leave it alone for 24 hours.

The FACT THAT IT IS STILL FREEZING MEANS THE WORKS ARE OK.!
If it still doesn't work correctly, you need freon added by a service man, but I think cleaning is all you will need.

You might remove the back and clean behind the unit if needed

Also note that
First and simplest thing is to make sure your condenser coils on the back of the fridge usually, are clean and have adequate air circulation. If you pull the fridge away from the wall you can just brush them off or use the brush on your vacuum.

One thing I have seen is a frost-free fridge building up ice on the cooling coils, this happend to me once during a hot spell here, although DW may have put a pot in the fridge such that it blocked the door barely open, not certain.

What I do know is that shutting the fridge off completely and opening both doors for a couple of days let the ice melt, and then I re-started it, it worked fine and still does.

This is one of the situations where having a spare fridge or old fridge in the basement or garage comes in handy. Or a small dedicated chest freezer.

If you don't have and don't want to buy any of the above, get a really good ice chest, put the contents of the fridge in that, ideally just use up the stuff in the freezer.

One other thing is to buy a pair of fridge/freezer thermometers, put one in each chamber, measure the actual temperature. One measurement is worth 1000 guesses.

If the cooling coils are blocked with ice, you can expect a good bit of water when it melts, you will see a catch basin on the rear of the fridge near the compressor, be ready to remove some water from that using something like a turkey baster.

If the coils were iced up, and the problem recurs within a few weeks, probably your heater timer and/or heater are out. These are generally worth fixing.

Hope this helpout........
