UN-PLUG YOUR REFRIGERATOR !!!!!! AND THEN ...
THE FIRST THING TO CHECK IS FOR PROPER WATER GOING "INTO" AND "OUT OF" THE SMALL WATER SUPLLY SOLENOID VALVE (USUALLY LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE FRIG.WHERE THE WATER LINE GOES IN.
TRACE WATER LINE BACK TO ITS SORCE ... TURN "OFF" THE VALVE.
USING AN ADJUSTABLE WRENCH, LOSSEN THE NUT AND ENSURE YOU HAVE GOOD WATER FLOW.LEAVE WATER "OFF"
THEN GO TO THE BACK OF THE FRIG. AND REMOVE THE NUT ON THE "SUPPLY LINE SIDE" OF THE SMALL WATER SOLENOID VALVE....
THERE IS A STRAINER AND ORFICE JUST INSIDE THAT CONNECTION ... CLEAN IT !!! DO NOT POKE A LARGER WHOLE IN THE ORFICE. REPLACE ALL PARTS IN THE REVERSE ORDER THEY WERE REMOVED AND TIGHTEN ALL CONECTIONS.
TURN WATER SUPPLY BACK "ON".AND PLUG REFRIGERATOR BACK-IN. (ALWAYS WAIT ALEAST 15 MINUTES TO RESTORE ELECTRIC POWER TO ANY REFRIGERATOR).
NOW JUST SLOWLY LOOSEN THE OTHER NUT ON THE "OUT-LET" SIDE LEADING INSIDE THE BACK OF THE FRIG. SEE IF YOU HAVE WATER.
IF YOU DO ... YOU VAN NOW CHECK TO SEE IF THE SOLENOID IS WORKING.... JUST USE A BUTTER KNIFE AND PLACE IT NEAR THE TOP SIDE(COIL) OF THE SOLENOID ... YOU SHOULD FEEL THE "MAGNETIC PULL" ...
IF YOU HAVE DONE ALL THE ABOVE AND YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS ... CALL A "LICSENED FACTORY-CERTIFIED COMPANY" TO DO A "FLAT-RATE" DIAGNOSTIC CHECK ON YOUR CIRCUITS.
ALWAYS GET A "TOTAL COST" ESTAMATE BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS OR SIGNING ANYTHING. NEVER LET A REPAIRMAN REMOVE AND LEAVE THE HOME WITH A DEFECTIVE PART AT ANYTIME HE IS THERE.
(UNLESS THE PART IS UNDER VWARRANTY)
NEVER BE AFFRAID TO WATCH AND ASK YOUR REPAIRMAN QUESTIONS. REAL PROFESSIONALS ARE HAPPY TO ANSWER AND SHOW YOU EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING... THATS BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT THERE DOING AND PROUD OF IT !!!!
Coldspot 106. Model
This model refrigerator is a relatively small refrigerator. It is a Freezer on top model, and Sears documents lists this unit at 18.1 cu ft. I hope that answers your question about capacity.
I'm glad I could help. If you need anything else, just let me know.
In reality, when you buy a replacement, you buy by dimensions to fit the space not cubic feet of the old one. Go to Home Depot armed with a tape measure.
..
Turn it off by removing the wall plug for 10 minutes. This will do a power rest to the control electronics. This is a bottom mounted freezer, so cold air for the fridge is vented upwards by a fan. Make sure it is running and there are no ice blockages. Strangely they call the fan in the fridge an
Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor. The part is obsolete anyway.
If it normally says 4 for the fridge, that would be 4 degrees Centigrade, which means the freezer should show minus 18'C. Or 36'F Fridge / 0' F Freezer/
This shows all the parts.

Not normally a flapper. There is a trap on the rear outside cabinet just below the level of the freezer. Remove it and soak in hot water and bleach for 20 minutes, then flush all the debris out, shake it dry and reinstall.
..
Put some Vaseline on the O-Ring to help it slide into place. Make sure it is properly inserted at the beginning.
If the filter is located inside the refrigerator:
Turn off the ice maker.
Push the eject button.
Pull the filter out of the housing.
Push the new filter into the housing until it clicks.
Turn on the ice maker.
Run 2 gallons of water through the water dispenser to purge air and residue.
Kenmore appliance model numbers have a three digit prefix (106 in this case) for the manufacturer. The rest of the model number indicates a lot of the specifics for the refrigerator. The third digit is the second group indicates the capacity. This fridge is a 22 cubic foot model (or slightly smaller).
I hope this helps.

Hello Linda. This should be below my Answer rather than being a new Question. This post has no context to the previous question and my answer. I just happened to see it, but if you clicked Comment under my answer, I would get a notification and come back to help. If I hadn't seen it and someone had answered it with 'not sure what you mean', it would have vanished off the Homepage as Solved and I would never have seen it.
I was just copying Cindy Wells answer, but yes, it is the total cubic feet of both the refrigerator and freezer combined.

The fan that blows cold air from the freezer to cool the refrigerator is not working. If your a little handy with tools its an easy fix. Its located in the freezer. Open your freezer door take off the steel panel at the back of the inside of the freezer. After you remove the panel you will see the fan the blows the cold air up to the Frig. A quick trip to a local appliance store for a new fan with do the trick. Put in the new fan 100% fixed even better than new because the orginal part is defective Kenmore should have recalled them. I have the same frig and its been perfect since I repaced my failed fan.
