Cold air from freezer blows into refrigerator compartment right behind that tray. Freezes stuff in that tray. Pizpoor design. Known issue. With GE refrigerators also of same design. That kenmore most likely was build by GE. GE/Kenmore deny the issue but thousands of posts online about it. No solution. Sorry. Good luck.
Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of
a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go
wrong.
If
you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two
tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check
out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to
start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do
rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for
you...
The first thing you should be looking for is a frost or "snowy" build up on the back wall of the freezer. Assuming that there is a build up then you need to remove the back wall of the freezer. Gaining access to the defrost thermostat and defrost heater is a little difficult due to the frost build up. the defrost thermostat is attached to the evaporator coils to the right of the fan assembly. You need to check for continuity across the thermostat. The thermostat is the most likely cause.

Every ten to twelve hours your refrigerator activates a heating element around the evaporator to defrost the accumulation of frost that develops on the evaporator. Behind the back panel there is an evaporator pan it has a rubber grommet with a hole in it this is your defrost drain hose it is clogged. Unplug or switch refrigerator off at breaker panel, remove panel covering evaporator area (rear panel in freezer), use a hair dryer or hot water to unclog defrost drain a turkey baster works well to make sure the hose is unclogged.
the water that drains down this hose accumulates in the defrost drain pan in the base of the refrigerator under normal operation the heat from the refrigeration system evaporates this water. The drain pan has a limited capacity so do not poor more than 20-20oz of hot water down the hose after you unclog it. If you poor to much it wont hurt anything just make a mess youll have to clean up.
Adjust the feet to raise the front of the frige, which should be higher than the back. Therefore the weight of the door will keep it shut or at least cause it to shut itself if it pops open.
Hi , check at the back if can find small motor the infeller is inside /if small motor hamming infeller inside are full of ice , let the timer rotate manually hear cracking of ice smelling like burning , that the hot coil burning, if does not burning coil has problem.
Coldspot 106. Model
This model refrigerator is a relatively small refrigerator. It is a Freezer on top model, and Sears documents lists this unit at 18.1 cu ft. I hope that answers your question about capacity.
I'm glad I could help. If you need anything else, just let me know.
In reality, when you buy a replacement, you buy by dimensions to fit the space not cubic feet of the old one. Go to Home Depot armed with a tape measure.

Turn it off by removing the wall plug for 10 minutes. This will do a power rest to the control electronics. This is a bottom mounted freezer, so cold air for the fridge is vented upwards by a fan. Make sure it is running and there are no ice blockages. Strangely they call the fan in the fridge an
Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor. The part is obsolete anyway.
If it normally says 4 for the fridge, that would be 4 degrees Centigrade, which means the freezer should show minus 18'C. Or 36'F Fridge / 0' F Freezer/
This shows all the parts.
