Model # 253.7033 My ice maker has stopped mid cycle.

Your heater finally went out in your ice maker it will have to be replaced it would be easier just to replace the entire ice maker assembly which it a ten minute fix.

Hello,

To assist ice from popping out of the frozen mold of the icemaker it is coated with nonstick teflon,just like the teflon on your cookware.That teflon is flaking off of the icemaker mold and the icemaker must be replaced.All you need to do to replace it unscrew it from the side freezer wall,unplug it and instatll new one. The part number is 4317943 you could purchase it at your local appliance parts store on online at;

It could need refrigerant...I'd try to possibly get a quote on that.

BUT FIRST,
I'd ensure the coils were cleaned of all dust and dirt...either by vacuum or blow it with compressed air.
I'd also check to make sure the light goes out when the door is closed. Sounds crazy but I had a bad switch once that allowed the bulb to stay on constantly...makes everything warm.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.

DH means defrost heater and refrigerator computer is not sensing the defrost cycle. It is due to a bad defrost sensor located on the evaporator behind the plastic cover in the back of the freezer compartment. You need to replace that. Also check this link if it helps:-

Air is not circulating properly.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.
Based on what you're describing, I'd suspect the issue is with what LG (that's the builder of your model of Kenmore) refers to as the "duct connector. (don't ask me why they call it that ?)
First though I'll ask you, it's important to note if the fridge provided any error code when this problem originated ? something like a "ERR-FF" in the display ?

What it is essentially is a blower motor inside a duct assembly that provides cool air to the icemaker assembly, as shown here...

macmarkus_408.jpg

macmarkus_409.jpg

It's a little pricey for such a small component at around $130 - $160USD. but don't confuse it with the other motor in the freezer which is the evaporator fan motor, they are not the same nor are they interchangeable.

I may have a test program I can provide for you and I will search my files as soon as I post this, but based on my experience it is likely the culprit.

I'll watch for your post and be glad to assist you in solving this problem in whatever manner I can.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

On the display on door. The message says Er FF.

Er FF is Error, Freezer Fan. The fan blade in the freezer is most likely blocked by some ice or frost. Clear that and the control will see the feedback from the fan showing that the motor is turning and the code will clear.

The light in the inside

It is most likely the switch. You can get a replacement from sears.com or any local appliance supply store. Just take your old part, along with the make and model number of your freezer, and they'll get you a replacement.

Have replaced 2 relays (part # 8201786) or

What is the model number of your refrigerator? The relays you replaced are "production relays" and for some reason the production relays don't seen to stand up very well. The service replacement would be better. Also, is the cooling fan on the unit running?
