I presume that the party from whom you purchased the house did not leave the original sales bill or warranty card for the refrigerator. Such items typically have the model number. Bearing you are without that documentation, you have to know where to look on the refrigerator for the model number. There are two labels on the refrigerator that have the model number. The first one is situated at the lower left of the refrigerator's exterior. Look at the frontal part to find this label. The other label is attached inside the refrigerator.
Simply open the refrigerator to find the model number. The number is located near the top shelf. Check on the sidewall of the top shelf. You will likely find the model number there! I realize you have found a number but that one is a dead end for me. The number you are looking for should have 3 digits followed by a period and that period is followed by more numbers. Kenmore support should be of greater assistance than I can be without knowing the model. I would hate to try to figure out the model by measuring its capacity and looking for models with such that were over six years old. If the tips on finding the model number don't pan out, perhaps Kenmore support will have better advice:

Kenmore Coldspot Refrigerator. Neither side is cold and condenser and fan not running.
Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from MISC, to Kenmore Refrigerator.
Please always include full 'make model (what is is)'.
Yes it sounds like it. With board issues, I would always advise calling out a technician so you get the correct diagnosis and warranty on the part and the work done. They aren't cheap. If the unit is old, a new one is the best plan. You may find the board is not available.

Does insulation between front grille and refrigerator coil make sense?
That is possibly a filtering material rather than insulation and is to help stop dust and fluff reaching the coils. If it definitely insulation like fibre glass, it should not be covering the front grill, so it may have just dropped down. I would definitely remove it as the fan draws cool air over the coils and over the compressor. Keeping it cool is the key to an efficient system. Set a reminder to clean the coil in a years time though as they are best done every year.
