Water inside refrigerator
Even though it doesn't seem like it's coming from your freezer, morre than likely that's where it's coming from. At the back of the fridge there will be a drip tray that actually catches the water from the thawing freeze. One way to avoid access water is to simply turn down your freezer and fridge. Usually if they are number 0-10, both frigde and freezer should be set on the 5 level.
How do i fix a fridge that is leaking?
Unplug the power to the Fridge, take the items out of the freezer.
There is a bottom tray that's inside the freezer that has 2 or 4
screws, remove the screws that holds the floor to the freezer and lift
it out. You will probably see a sheet of ice on the bottom of the
freezer. You may have to take off the back cover which is inside the
freezer, it covers the evaporator. Then you will want to defrost the
ice, do not use a heat gun it will melt the inside of the freezer. Best
way to thaw it is leave the power off and melt it with hot water (not
boiling). Either wet vac out the water as it melts or use a hand towel
to mop it up. Sometimes a turkey baster will work to squeegee it out.
There is a drain hole in the back that you will see as the ice begins
to melt. That needs to be clear and the only way to clear it is to
cover it with hot water. You will know that it clears and working when
you see the water drain out thru the drain hole in the back of the
inside of the freezer. By the way the drain drains thru a pipe thru a
tray that's on top of your compressor. That's what heats it and makes
it evaporate. Be advised that as you see that it is clearing, you can
stop dumping water down there as some may get on the floor as the pan
may overflow and dump water on the floor. If that happens, just mop up
the water from the floor. Now put it back together again and plug it
back in and you should have no further problems.
I have Kenmore refrigerator, leaks water inside.
Is there an ice maker in the freezer? If so, check all fittings, otherwise, this is condensation, which is VERY common & is actually expected, especially in summer months. There should be a small hole in the bottom, center, under the crisper drawers, make sure that it is not blocked up. The condesation (water) that builds up goes through that hole into a condensation drain pan & gets cooked off by a little boxy thing (golly I forget the correct term & my husband is a refrigeration tech) that warms up or simply evaporates in to the air. The water you see is NORMAL, but your drain may be plugged up, so go have a peek to make sure it's clear, if not, just clear it out & you'll be good to go. Good luck.
Connect ice maker
Almost all ice makers have a plug on them and the fridge has a corresponding plug. If you cannot find the plug in the Fridge - look in the area of the ice maker for a plastic plug in the wall of the fridge. If you've added this to the fridge after the fact then you may need to fish out the plug from the wall of the fridge.
There is water leaking what do i do
Your drain tube may
be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's
stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor.
It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little
pressure with a turkey baster will
usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make
sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be
located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.
Water leaking in refrigerator on shelves, drawers, and under draw
This is a common problem with this refrigerator. I think it's a design problem. You have to access the drain from inside the freezer compartment by removing the slide-out shelf and then getting a hex screwdriver to remove the screws on the bottom cover. After removing the screws, you can access the drain which is in the very back in the middle of a metal "trough". It is very hard to access. If it's like mine, you will find a lot of ice on the floor of the freezer compartment. You have to remove the ice and then let the refrigerator sit for a little while until it starts to thaw in the back. I have used a hair dryer and hot water to help thaw it out, but it is a hassle. You can use something like a metal hanger to help clear the drain, but I can warn you, you are in for a long haul. Expect to spend several hours clearing the ice out. My solution? Don't buy a Kenmore.
Do i have it hooked up correctly
If you have the line connected to the rear of frig. and the valve is on with no leaks you do have it hooked up properly. The water has to go through a series of solenoids and about forty or fifty feet of tubing before it reaches the door. This process takes a bit.Hold a glass under the water fill spout and press it in. If you can hear the sound then all you need to do now is wait. continue to hold the button until water comes out. dispose of the first few glasses of water and the first few drops of ice. this will allow the system to be flushed of all contaminants. Note that when an ice maker is new or not used much it will not make very fast. it usually takes about 24 hours to make the first drop. Hope this helps and good luck.
Difference in waterline hookup between old and new icemakers
this is so often the case with some of the larger companeys. there are only two types of connections for these water lines. 1st is a compression fitting 1/4 inch 2nd is a push lock style also 1/4 inch. Both styles can be purchased at any large hardware store. they should be with pipe supplies. Hope this helps and good luck.
Odor in fridge
Probably getting a new Fridge-mother doesn't want to continue to deal with repairs. Thanks anyway.
Water from defros goes to the bottome of refrigerator
the drain from the freezer can get stuck with ice or other stuff. The tough part is removing the cover from the freezer to expose the coils and the drain. Check the defrost coil while you're there, I use a hair dryer to melt the ice.
My fridge freezer comprises of the top one being
It sounds like the fan in your freezer is not working so it can't get the cold air to the frig or your coils are not defrosting and it is stopped u and cant blow air into te frig, One way to check if you hear the fan and know that it is working open the frig and put your hand up near the vent to see if you can fill cold air if you can't now open the freezer door if you can feel the cold air or more air r coils then you could before then your coils are stoped up the unit is not defrosting.
Kenmore coldspot - How do you remove the ice maker box to clean
I have the exact same Kenmore and exact same model #77292798. It's the top freezer model with ice maker. Here's what I did:
Empty everything in the freezer.
Turn water to ice maker off from source behind unit.
Remove bottom panel (two screws)
Every screw in the freezer is the exact same size. I used a screwdriver style socket and, I think
this works the best.
Remove ice maker (4 screws) and unplug from socket.
Remove rear panel (2 screws).
My freezer was loaded with ice underneath the bottom panel. The ice scraped away easily. There is a tin pan underneath the coils that drains toward the middle where the drain hole is. Again, my freezer was full of ice beneath this tin pan and, I had to scrape away. You may be tempted to try and remove the coil because it would be easier to get to drain hole. I tried this and, it did no good. Don't try it. Once all the ice was scraped away, I realized that the drain hole was plugged with ice. I used boiling hot water and used a squeeze bottle to pour the hot water into the drain hole. I then wrapped a paper towel around a thin screwdriver and used that to soak up the now cold water in the drain hole. After doing this a dozen times or so, the drain finally cleared.
Then, reassemble. This was a much easier task than I thought it would be and, will take care of it much quicker next time.
