Abit has released an updated BIOS for the IC7-MAX3 motherboard which fixes quite a few issues with your motherboard including one that can cause the system to hang with certain memory modules. The updated BIOS is HERE and instructions for the upgrade are in Appendix G of the User Manual or a general guide is HERE

Without further knowledge of it's previous condition, I would say the power supply is bad. There are multiple rails of voltage in a power supply, while one may be functioning, a 2nd is not and therefore it will not pass its own pre-test and therefore will not function as a whole. I had the same exact description recently, I replaced my power supply and it was functioning perfectly. If there is another computer in the house with the same watt/voltage power supply, try swapping it out.. if the computer starts, the power supply is your problem.

Basically, display card, RAM and processor are the ones affecting the display. IF trying different memory and video card doesnot help. Try changing the different processor. Thanx with regards Sajan

Its probably caused by the RAM, have it checked. If you can do it yourself, clean the RAM as shown in the image below:

Install it back to the computer and turn it on. If problems persist try another RAM, it may already need replacement.

In case your computer has 2 RAMS installed, clean them both. To test if there is a busted one, install the one then turn on the PC, if it works shut down the PC. Then try the other one, if it works too then it just needs some cleaning. But if not, one of them needs replacement. You can still use your computer with 1 RAM, just don't expect the same performance as having two RAM.

If you have the motherboard software, then you need to install it, this should automatically reinstall the usb drivers for you. Good Luck

The usb ports might me malfunctioning . Try to use different ports. If that doesnt solve it then there might be a power issue on the board.

If they use the wide ribbon cable, you need the cables with two connectors. Then set on drive to master and one to slave, or set both to CS - for cable select. When you restart the computer, the OS will do the rest.
