Hi
the patch is where the microwaves come out. It sounds like a pretty catastrophic failure like a short in the transformer. If the microwave was empty or there were metal objects in it e.g. tin foil that could have killed it. Otherwise if it was being used normally and it was under a year old it could just be what they call an early life failure. In which case you can return it to the supplier.

Top of over-the-range microwave hot to touch; normal?
A little over 100F is hotter than most folks can stand to touch, so it may not be seriously hot.
But if you're concerned, you might see if your dealer will let you test another one or a similar model at the store to see if it also gets that hot.
Otherwise, you can return it to be safe or y

Magnatron Heat Sink Gets Hot But Not Food
Important: Does it sound any louder or quieter when cooking than it used to?
If the magnetron's getting hot, you're getting high voltage.
Chances are it overheated and the magnet cracked.
If the internal cooling fan (usually separate from the vent fan) fails, that will allow it to overheat, too.
If it's within the magnetron warranty period, Sears will cover the part, but not the labor to visit you or do the work.

Turntable roller rest
It's called either the turntable coupler or the turntable support, depending on your model number.
You can visit the Sears parts Web site at http://www3.sears.com/ and enter your full model number and see exploded view diagrams, parts lists, and order the part.

Kenmore over the range microwave tripping breaker
You've found the proper location if you're seeking for the fuse for your Kenmore microwave. The fuse is often found in the microwave's or behind the control panel. You must take off the microwave's exterior cover in order to reach it.
After you've identified the fuse, you may see if it has blown. If so, you'll have to swap it out for a new one. It might be preferable to seek professional advice if you are unsure on how to proceed.

When trying to use convection with Kenmore hood combination it stars then stops and the display says F-5. What does that mean
If you are getting an F-5 error code on your Kenmore hood combination, it typically indicates a problem with the temperature sensor. This error code may occur when you are trying to use the convection feature, as you have described.
To troubleshoot this issue, try the following steps:
Turn off the power to the unit and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
Wait a few minutes, then plug the unit back in and turn on the power.
Try using the convection feature again and see if the error code reappears.
If the error code persists, you may need to replace the temperature sensor. You can consult the user manual for your Kenmore hood combination or contact Kenmore customer service for assistance with this.
If the unit is still under warranty, it's recommended to contact Kenmore customer service for repair or replacement options.

My Kenmore stove timer started going off every 45 seconds
It sounds like you may be experiencing an issue with your Kenmore stove's timer function. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:
Check the timer settings to make sure that the correct time and alarm settings have been entered.
Try resetting the timer by turning it off and back on again, or unplugging the stove and waiting a few minutes before plugging it back in.
Make sure that there are no buttons or knobs stuck on the stove, as this could cause the timer to activate repeatedly.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact a professional appliance repair service for further assistance.

Kenmore microwave model 401.85053010 won't heat or cook anything.
Unfortunately, this is not something that can be diagnosed from a distance, unless you had access to a "Kill-a-Watt" meter or equivalent. It could be caused by a bad door switch, a bad relay on the main board, a bad magnetron, or a bad HV diode. (The HV capacitor is probably OK, because if it were bad [shorted], it would blow fuses.)
