How do you clean the filter

Of all the problems you might encounter while using your dishwashermag-glass_10x10.gif, a clogged filter is one of the easiest to fix. The filter can get clogged with food or detergent, which can block the water from flowing correctly through the spray arms. Although you should check your user's manual for directions more specific to your dishwasher's filter, there are some simple things you can do to make sure that your filter is squeaky clean.
  1. Step 1 Disconnect the dishwasher from its power source. This may require unplugging the dishwasher or flipping the appropriate switch on the circuit breakermag-glass_10x10.gif.
  2. Step 2 Remove the bottom rack from your dishwasher.
  3. Step 3 Remove the filter cover, which should be located on the bottom surface of your dishwasher.
  4. Step 4 Use your hand to remove the worst of the debris. If necessary, wash the filter with soap to remove the heavier grime.
  5. Step 5 Replace the filter and the lower rack of the dishwasher.
You can also use a wet vacuum to clean the filter.Make sure to replace the filter after cleaning. If it is not replaced, the grime that usually gets stuck in the filter will end up on your dishes

Leak from white plastic box under right side of door

Check the seal around the pipe the plunger runs in. The other thing is to make sure the switch cuts off water fill BEFORE the level gets to the top of that pipe. This could be defective switch or adjustment of it.

The water level should be well below the top of the pipe when filled.

If the switch has gotten wet, it may be defective due to internal damage.

Glasses have milky film after running the dishwasher.

This "milky-like" film is hard water build up in your dishwasher that is depositing it back onto your dishes. To solve this you can get the product called Lemi-Shine at any store or on line. The first time you need to put about 2 heaping table spoons into the dishwasher with no dishes in it and run a normal cycle. Then load and put 1 table spoon in it for about 4 times and you will see the "milky-like" film go away. After that you will need to do a Lemi-Shine cleaning 1 a week. The Lemi-Shine has the directions on the container. I know this cause I use to have the same problem at my house and this works. Good luck. And thank you for the question.

Kitchenaid, new dishwasher, stopped cleaning top rack dishes

The problem most people encounter with dishwashers is a simple inability to get the dishes clean. There might be stuck-on food or residue from the detergent. A water pressure problem may be the culprit. You may need to replace the water intake valve. Another common problem is mineral build-up. If your house has hard water, the mineral build-up can clog the water jets. Clear each jet with a wire or pin, and run an empty load with some vinegar in the detergent dispenser about once a month.

Sometimes, the dishwasher has problems draining properly. There could be a clog in the drain hose, or a problem with the pump. It's also possible that the dishwater is getting too sudsy, and sensors in the washer aren't detecting the soap foam as water. This causes it to shut down the drain cycle too early. Just use less detergent.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher-Water Problem

You want to make sure you do not have a sticky float assy. first of all. Next, see if you have 120 volts getting to the fill valve. Remove the harness and start a cycle. If 120 volts is present and still no water, you probably have a bad valve. If no voltage is present, check your door switch to make sure they are closing when shutting the door. The next issue would be the control board itself. This is all assuming you have water to the dishwasher.

It sounds like the water inlet valve has stopped letting water in. With no water the spray bar won't rotate as it is driven by the pump. Generic videos.

I have a small pin hole in the bottom of my kitchenaid dish washer which is stainless.. Can the bottom pan be replaced or does the hole need to be patched?

If the hole is small you can seal it with epoxy putty. Clean and abrade the area and after mixing the putty make sure it is pushed well into the hole and if possible smoothed over on the underside. Two types that will work.
