Hi Dave, this sounds like your water valve is toast. It isn't closing when not energized likely due to mineral deposit preventing the valve plunger from seating. The valve will need to be replaced, they aren't serviceable nowdays, but it should be available at a local brick & mortar part places or any number of on-line vendors. Just provide them with your model number and they should be able to fix you up for under $50 if you can do-it-yourself. Hope this helps move you forward. there is a kit to fix the dispenser but as a tech it is better to replace let me know if info has been helpful

yes .take all screws out.when door panel comes out you will see the dispenser between inner panel . check for push tabs to release dispenser,then when reinstalling make sure add lubricant around seal so it will go in easier. let me know if i was helpful.

check your floater. a round piece in the bottom of tub. what detects water

I thought the metal bar had to be locked into place somewhere in the black latch. This was not the case. I just put the white plastic latch in place in the slot in the door and closed the panel and the metal bar went into the correct position against the black latch.

find someone in your area that rebuilds dishwashers go in and ask them how they fix the seals

I bought a new dishwasher and got rid of this LEMON. And the new one is NOT A KITCHENAID!

Push these buttons in this order High temp wash>Heated dry>high temp wash>heated dry  it may freeze up again if there is an issue somewhere.

While not essential, it would be a good idea, although I suspect the sensor is faulty - hence the bodge.

Replace the water solenoid valve

unplug it and call a qualified repairman to give you an estimate and then choose what to do

I suspect that the cycle "button" on the control panel is intermittent.  Try using a different cycle - If you always use "short wash", try the "normal" cycle.
This worked for me.  It will be too expensive to repair, so I am dishwasher shopping.

GET A FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER TRY TO PUSH THE LATCH TO OPEN THE DOOR...
