Danco Faucet Stem Questions & Answers
I installed stem and the valve will not shut cold water off that is running
If your having major issues, I would try to locate the main on/off valves at your water heater and pump/cold water line in the basement. One the water is shut off, I would try to check if there is a proper seal...as required concerning the stem. It's probably on of the old gaskets that was not remove and doubled up. Happened to me. Good luck!

HOW DO YOU ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL A DANCO 9S-4H/C
Turn off the water supplying the faucet. Now open the faucet. Remove handle by taking off index button and removing screw. You may need to purchase a handle puller, 10-15 dollars, and a stem wrench set. After removing handle, place appropiate sized wrench on stem and turn counter clockwise. Before installing stem, make sure it is in the open position. You may need to use the handle to turn the new stem. Screw in clockwise.

Take the shower head off and see if the pressure is better or the same. If it is the same then you will need too look up-stream for blockage in the water lines. If it is better then replace or clean out the holes in the shower head. It may also have a filter screen before the shower head.
Water comes out of the
The gate or bypass put of the tub spout is not stopping all of the water from coming out of it so that means it is not diverting all of the water to the shower head. The tube spout is not made for rebuilding in most cases but you could take it off and look for some sort of debris that may be causing this to happen.
I bought a 3h-10h/c but
The same part works for both Hot & Cold sides. Usually preset to work on Hot (counter clockwise on, clockwise off). To set for Cold, simple remove the plastic clip from the top, slide the ring tab off, flip it over and put back on (you can only put it on one way since there's a flat "key" in it matching the stem) Now its set for Cold (CCW of, CW on). One of two things has happened. I'm assuming you only get hot water when you open the valve and that this is for a single handle control shower fixture. If so either this is the wrong valve for your shower control or it is installed backwards. Sometimes the valve can be installed at either 180 degree angles. See if it can be installed any other way. If so this may solve the problem.

Sometimes on the stems on the side the handle attaches is a nut that can be tightened. Inside this nut is a rubber or other type of seal. tightening this nut stops the water from coming out of the handle. If the nut has already been tightened then possibly need to replace this rubber seal.
I cant get the hot
with little information you have given , I must assume you have pulled the screw cap cover from the center of the handle to expose the screw that secures the handle to the valve stem and it is either stripped or frozen so tight you can't loosen it . If this is true, the only way I know of (without damaging the rest of the valve assembly) is to start with a quarter inch drill bit on a good drill and drill the center of the screw head in line with the screw and drill into the head about 3/16 " . If the head doesn't detach from the screw, up the size of the drill bit to 1/4in. and drill into the head again . Drilled same depth , no more than 3/16" ... the head should come off and you should be able to remove the handle afterwards . Hopefully there will be enough of the screw protruding from the shaft and you'll be able to remove it, enabling you to reuse the valve stem . If not , you just have to buy a new valve stem with a new screw .
