Every time I switch on
You're wiring can't take that much load OR your mixer is short circuited. Test it by connecting to a different outlet first If it still trips.

We removed the screws on
Hi, W/D here.
If you are referring to the large caps on either side of the motor, they need to be replaced correctly for the motor to run. The parts I'm referring to are the motor brushes, which are carbon pieces attached to a spring, with a wire connecting them. The brushes have to be reinstalled with the curvature of the brushes matching the curvature of the motor. When you look at the ends of the brushes, you will see the curvature on the ends. Install the brushes, compress the spring into the motor cavity with the cap, and screw down. Do this to both sides, and the motor will run as before.
Best regards, --W/D--

Hi there, I was doing cake mixing and turn off
If you can hear the motor spinning and the beater does not spin, the worm gear has probably failed. These fail frequently, specially after using them beyond there designed limits. The motor heats up and the gear, which is a type of plastic or nylon, melts.

Do I have to unplug
if it is still moving in the off position -- then the switch is bad. you can remove the top and inspect the switch for a loose or broken wire that could be making contact with the rail. if you are not that handy then you can take the mixer to appliance repair shop and they will be able to fix the switch for about 25 to 35 dollars ( maybe less if it is just a loose wire ).
I have this same mixer here at my place and it is a great mixer,, pretty die hard,, it should give you many years of trouble free mixing.
NOW I was thinking that it almost sounds like you might have just bought this mixer and it is new -- if it is brand new -- I would take it back to the store that you bought it from and tell them the problem you are having and just replace it,,, also check the warranty time on the unit and the manufacture might be still responsible for repairs(??).

What is the difference between the Kitchen Aid
Hi,
The KSM150 is the line of mixers with similar features. It is in the Artisan series, tilt head, 325 watts. All mixers in the KSM150 line have the same features.
The one that you asked about, the KSM150PSMC is done in metallic chrome.
Best regards, --W/D--

The pin that holds the mixer to the stand keep
Hi, Mixing Dough is tough. the neading hook really works hard and the pin will like to wander out on the left side of the mixer "right side if your facing the it". What I did was find an smaller elastic band and with the pin sticking out a 1/3 of an inch from the opposite side from which it wanders out.
loop the band on it as many times as possible so its stays on tight . with this you now have a bumper and as the pin vibrates to wander out the elastic bumper will gently keep pulling it back during the vibration cycle keeping it in check .
Works perfect but still inspect the pin and bumper before each use.

I have had my stand
Tap it with a spatula handle, something with a little weight to it but soft like plastic or wood. Give it some pressure in the direction you want it to go and then hit it in that direction too.
Run a little sandpaper inside the mounting hole in the attachment when you get it off, it's probably got a little corrosion on it. Sugar can make them stick too, a little hot water brushed on will help if it's got sugar in it.

I just got my mixer a few weeks ago for Christmas.
Put the flat beater on and mount the bowl to the machine. Now look for the screw next to where the beater mounts on the head- this is the adjusting screw. Turn it counterclockwise to lower the beater, just a quarter of a turn, and then check where it's running in the bowl. Repeat as necessary. If you need to raise the beater, just turn the screw the other way.

I have a Kitchen Aid Artisan stand Mixer. The
Hi,
You have to open the kitchen aid to find out the exact problem.Mostly the motor will not be a problem.
In many of the Kitchen Aid model the switch is the problem.Loose connection will cause this issue. If u have a humming noise noise but it doesn't work then motor coil has gone bad.If no noise switch has gone bad.So replace it accordingly.
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

I cannot remove the dough
You should be able to remove it by lifting it and turning it counter clockwise. Sometimes they stick so you might try a dab of cooking oil on the shaft of the mixer.

My KSM150PSS Kitchen Aid started leaking a brown
Kitchenaid says to run it on high speed long enough for it to warm up well, then turn it upside down- I'd leave it upside down overnight.
The grease in the gearbox, over time, will separate into oil and heavier grease- mixing them together again and letting them run back to the top of the gearbox should take care of it.
If not, come on back and we'll go through the whole disassembly procedure.
