MY KITHCENAID MICROWAVE MODEL KHMS155L TURNS ON BY ITSELF,OCCASIONALLY WILL GO TO F2.

Possible fault with the customer touch pad or the controls. Sometimes this is caused by insect secretion - cockroaches- which can make the controller processor board act with such erractic behaviour.Try to remove the power, remove cover and remove the main controller board and control pad to be washed, cleaned and reset. take care of the strip connection and wires.

My microwave is built in and it says it is locked

Since you didn't mention the brand or model number, I have to be kind of general. If your oven has a child lock, your owner's manual will tell you how to turn that on and off. If for some reason you don't still have yours, you can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here. You can download owner's manuals and installation instructions for several brands (including Amana, Jenn-Air, Kitchenaid, Litton, Maytag, Roper, Tappan, Thermador and Whirlpool) here. You can download Frigidaire owner's manuals and installation instructions here. You can download Samsung manuals here. You can find links to other brands and find helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here. I recommend that you bookmark that link to your favorites. We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

The microw wave will not

Hi clayvette,

If your microwave oven does not heat, it is often caused by the thermal (internal) fuse. This is one of the most common problem for the oven not to work. Here are additional troubleshooting tips that you may apply to figure out what is wrong with your unit.

1. Check for any blown fuse.

2. If it does make a humming or buzzing noise as it trys to heat, the control board is bad and the relays on the back is what your hearing.

3. Check the door switch. The door switch is activated by the latch. If it is broken the switch will not allow the oven to work.

4. If the unit runs but is buzzing very loudly, then you have problems with the magnetron, the high voltage capacitor, or the power diode.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Displayed error message F-2. Now it will start

F2 on a Kitchenaid means you have a shorted membrane keypad. It's not uncommon for it to be intermittent or partially operable.

On these models, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself job.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number (with suffix) from the tag on the oven here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Microwave handle replace installing a new door

Hello,
To perform this task, you will be needing: Screwdriver, 10-12 butter knives, putty knives or plastic wedges, and Replacement handle.
Remove the screws on the side of the door that help hold the handle in place. There are eight hooks on the top and bottom and four hooks on the hinged part of the door that keep the front and back of the microwave door together.

Pry the first hook out of the hole and slide a butter knife, putty knife or plastic wedge in the space to keep from the hook going back into place. Do this with all the hooks.

Apply some pressure to the knives and the front of the door will come off. Remove the damaged handle and replace with the new one. Snap the front of the door back into place and tighten the screws on the side of the handle.

I hope you found the above helpful. If you don't please let me know for further directions.
Regards.

Where do I find instructions

I do not think you will find directions for this task. Microwaves are not intended to be user serviceable...But, you just need to take the door apart in an orderly fashion, and force nothing.

When using the oven tonight, i saw sparks coming

Yes it is possible to replace the plastic clips. However thats not the problem. The problem is exposed metal under the plastic clip. Remove the clip and you will see it. You need to sand it down so that it is smooth, then use ceramic paint to cover up the exposed metal. You should check under all 4 clips to be safe. Clips are a little tricky to get out, just insert a screwdriver on either side and pry gently.
