hi i am sorry you have left the unit with being used or charged up the battery has gone to no point of return

The life span of the batteries in that unit are only one year without a maintenance charger connected.

okay people... this is a long one, but I just did it for two units that were having this problem and it worked both times.
The problem is the unit sat on the shelf and doesn't have enough power to operate its charging cycle.
Take an extension cord and plug in the outlet charger while you also plug it into your cigarette lighter... now attempt to charge it (you will hear the familiar alarm). Now, turn on the LED light... after a short time, turn off the light and the unit will begin to charge regularly. You can then use one of the chargers to finish the job.
By doing this you are providing plenty of power to the battery while the light drains it at a slower rate... kinda forcing the battery to condition/cycle; it's just allowing the battery to take the charge. Hope this helps.

Is there a code for the Battery Booster or is it some other item.

The 'ON' position is for charging OR jumping the car battery. Normally, you just hook the unit to the car battery to jump start it, then remove it and the car alternator will charge the car battery. "If the unit starts to beep continuously, let it beep for about 1 minute, then turn the unit off and unplug the charger from the unit. Allow the unit to sit a full minute and then repeat the charging process.
If you still experience difficulties with the unit beeping after about ten attempts to charge, we recommend bringing the unit back to the retailer for an exchange, or taking the unit to the nearest factory-owned service center for assistance. "
They say the chip needs reset.
It didn't work for me though.

It sounds like you need a new battery (this is what the beeping is) even though its only a year old the battery needs replaced!

It didn't work for me though.

First plug the charge adapter into an outlet, then plug into the unit. Push the power button to turn the unit on. Now, push the button for the light. The light should come on. At this point you hit the charge button and the green light should start blinking and there will no beeping. Then turn off the light. The green light should continue to blink and the unit will charge. This worked for me, hope it helps!

I think you mean you are going to throw it out.
