Oster 5838 ExpressBake Bread Maker - Page 9 Questions & Answers
I have an Oster kitchen center that the motor would not start can you help me?
Sounds like a capacitor. A capacitor stores up voltage and releases it as a "boost" to start an electric motor. It is usually silver (I have seen black ones also) In fact here is a pic of a black capacitor (your capacitor) will be smaller and probably "silver" in color. Read your numbers on your capacitor and google where to buy one. Take pictures before you disconnect your wires (lots of pictures) and make note of any symbols or reference marks on your old capacitor....good luck.
I have an Oster 4807. I want to make Gluten Free bread. Can I do that with this machine?
Absolutely! I highly recommend King Arthur Flour website for Gluten free recipes. When I am using my Oster for gluten free I have a habit of using the dough cycle instead of the full cycle. After the dough is done I place it into a bread pan (or make rolls, or pizza crust, etc) let it rise again for 45 minutes and then bake it in my oven. When basing gluten free in the Oster I found that it came out either overcooked or under-cooked. (depending on the type of gluten free bread I was making.)
