The four feet on the bottom are easily removed with a 1/4" socket slipped inside the each rubber foot fitting.

I simply slid a small screwdriver in through one of the holes under the base to prevent the fan from spinning and unscrewed the pin counterclockwise using some small channel lock pliers. No disassembly necessary.

Is the black plastic part, seal, and glass portion snugly fitted together? If so, it's likely that the black plastic part isn't making contact with the pin. On mine I have to turn it about a quarter turn to lock it to the motor/ drive pin.

If I have a hard object such as ice cubes too firmed placed in the blender against the blade and the glass, I shake the container to loosen the materials and reseat it onto the drive pin as mentioned above.

Thanks to some good leads, I determined the cause of the problem and ordered a part. Hopefully, that will resolve the problem.

You should have four parts:

Shiny washer
Fan
Black spring-washer
Bolt

They assemble onto the driveshaft in that order.

With the unit upside-down and the bottom off the wires on the right side of the switch go like this:
yellow on top
black on middle
red on the bottom

No wire connects to the 4th connection point (top left side).

It sounds like one of a number of things...

* The contacts in the switches fried
* The motor itself fried
* The controller section fried

If you saw smoke, something fried... probably cheaper to simply replace the unit. Even if it still worked, it's a 120V electric appliance used with liquids, and I wouldn't trust it... I'd hate to hear that your blender started a kitchen fire.

Same thing happen to my blinder, it uses 5A fuse 250V. But even if you replaced the fuse it still blow up... some other issue related that make the fuse blow

check the operator manual - and see the parts breakdown picture. the sequence of parts to remove to replace it would be evident from the pictures.

there are compaies around that sell seals , bearings and "O" rings see if you have such an operation in your state and contact them with the measurements of the seal

Get it touch with a local Oster repair guy. Likely he can solve your problem, over the phone. You may need to take it to them.
