Probably find that the carburetor jets are a bit clogged. Remove and soak in carburetor cleaner and then blow out with compressed air. Or alternately get a very fine drill set and clean, but be careful if choosing this method. Also clean the air filter. cheers

10W-30 will be OK. Try not to overfill it. I use synthetic in all my small engines.

Since most generators are seldom used, gas left in the carburetor gunks up and stops up the passages. Take lots of pix of the assembly. Pull the carb, remove the bowl and spray carb cleaner in all the holes you see. Don't let it back spray into your eyes. Wear safety glasses. Some holes/orifices may need to have a soft wire passed thru them. Next time you store your generator, drain the gas, run the generator til all the gas is out of the carb. If you can get to the bowl w/o removing the carb, pull the bowl and spray the bowl and underside of the carb w/carb cleaner and reassemble.

The oil level may be too high check when you to take oil dip stick out, the oil level should be about 3/4 below the top of the threads..

Check the rubber line going to the carb, the clamp is bad for the hose

start engine with no load first and warm it up , they run high rpm about 2400 or more with no load..

Yamaha 6300 will produce 45.8 continuous amps using the 240 volt position , I use converter plug to a 50 amp 4 prong plug You did not specify the amps of your compressor but 25 amps on each 120 volt leg, equals to 50 amp 240 and I guarantee your compressor does not use that much.
