Partially cut wire in cord

Irons take a lot of electricity to run, if the cord is damaged, you should not use it and you may not be able to get another cord for it. IT would be better to buy a whole new one.

Do I use distilled water for steam in my iron?

Always use distilled H2O to avoid build up of calcium/lime deposits. That's for ANY iron.

My Rowenta DX 6100 does not turn on when I plug

Chances of causing that not to turn on are: a open defective wire, loose wiring terminal connection, a open heater or the dial switch itself.
Check all of that, you need a continuity tester to do that. If you don't have, ask someone who has knowledge on appliance repair or call a service technician.
Thanks for asking.

Hi,

Brown water and white scale are often the result of the water you use in the iron...

If you have scale, white vinegar will clean that...

For brown water, empty the iron, rinse out the insides with bottled water,

and then use the bottled water instead...

Are you in a hard water or soft water area, maybe you could try using filtered water in your iron. To clear out the scale from the jets try adding a little white vinegar to the water and steaming it through, or a little "Calgon" diluted in water. Then perform a test iron on some dark fabric untill the scale has been removed.

It is sticky and looks like glue

Hello :

Here I'm going to tell you the basics of cleaning your Rowenta iron :

Things You'll Need:1:Rowenta Soleplate Cleaning Kit
2: Ironing board
3:Clean, dry cloth
4:Two cotton terry cloths, such as washcloths

Now to the cleaning :

1:Pour out any water from the iron. Turn the steam iron on to the "Cotton" setting, which is the one with three dots on the settings dial.

2:Cover an area of the ironing board with a clean, dry cloth. Fold one washcloth or other piece of cotton terry cloth in half and place it onto the cloth on the ironing board.

3:Dispense a 2-inch long daub of cleaning solution onto the terry cloth. Run the heated iron over the cloth directly on the cleaning solution. Move the steam iron in a circular motion over the cleaner on the cloth for a minute or two.

4:Remove the steam iron from the cloth. Carefully wipe any remaining cleaning solution from the soleplate using the second terry cloth.

5:Add water to the steam iron. Turn on the "Steam" or "Burst of Steam" feature. Run the iron over the clean, dry cloth on the ironing board to ensure the cleaning product is entirely gone from the soleplate.
