I'm having similar problem with same TV.
I've been advised it could be the ballast but I cannot find one for this morphedite tv. Please repost if can find a solution.

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error also click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scoll to ports(com&lpt)right click to scan for hardware changes or scroll to monitors + to expand plug and play monitor right click where you have options to update driver,disable.uninstall,scan for hardware changes or select properties where in the general you have the option to troubleshoot also in the driver tab you have the similar options when you first right click on monitor also click start control panel,display,desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list also settings you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal size,larger size or custom settings always click APPLY after making any changes hope this helps

It looks as if you have to return it personally, and have them fix it. I saw nothing on the HP ID5220 DLP TV in the ballast lists. Sorry, man. Wish I could be of more help. Maybe someone else has a better site, or connections, that can help you. Your best bet is to get professional help with someone, like the company that manufactures the hardware.

Usually means you need to update your video driver. What model is your computer you are connecting the monitor to?

OSD means On Screen Display. To unlock the OSD hold the power button of the monitor until you get a message similar to "OSD unlocked".

Sorry to hear about your laptop. It sounds like the battery may need to be replaced. Older laptop batteries will loose the ability to hold a charge as time goes on.

Here are some things to try:
1) Remove the battery from the notebook and try booting up with just the power adapter plugged into the notebook. If the notebook boots then the power adapter is working fine. If the notebook does not boot then the power adapter is no good and needs replaced.

2) With the battery in the notebook, and the notebook off, leave the power adapter plugged into the notebook for a few hours or over night and see if the battery charges.

I'm assuming that your unit is dead seat.

Here are some DIY steps that may help you fixing the problem.

1. Check the power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity).

2. Check the internal fuse - sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one will cure the problem, If this is the case I've advice you to use surge protector/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator). If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

3.If you see that the fuse is intact on the board, don't attempt to touch anything because there some fatal components stored electricity enough to hurt you with a simple mistake only.

The next steps should be done by an expert or qualified technician because isolating the problem on the power supply is quite technical.

Also check if your unit is under warranty before opening the back panel, it will void the warranty. Avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or a little charge only.

You probably did not have that tv plugged into a surge protector. When the power was restored, a surge came through the line. A power surge is a spike in voltage above the maximum a tv, appliance etc. can handle of 169 volts. They are very brief, usually lasting millinths of a second. Power surges can vary in duration and magnitude, varying from a few hundred volts to several thousand volts.

That said, now what do you do. If the tv is under 3 years old I recommend that you take it into a local TV repair shop for a free estimate of repair. If it is older than that, I would not repair, just replace. J.

Hello ma'am, you HP has power supply problems. this requires replacement of the board. If you have no idea, call for service.

Just had a 42 HP plasma TV in for repair with the same symptoms. There was bad Y-main board. It doesn't mean your tv has same bad board but could. You need bring it to a repair shop.

Clean the lenz if this doesnt solve it your Laser Pick Up assembly is bad have a Tech replace.

First of all try to update USB driver for your HP Pavillion a622n if it works its good news for you otherwise it will be some internel problem.

Either someone is messing with you or the control processor is faulty.
Simple test: block the remote sensor in the front of the tv with a dark coloured tape. If you still have the same problem then the processor is faulty and the entire board will have to be replaced by the dealer (or an authorized repairman).
