It makes no sense to repair it. It will be cheaper just to buy a new one.

You likely have a bad primary interlock (bottom door switch) or its mount is bad.

Sparking in a M/wave is a problem as it can damage the works. Not sure what the plate is you speak of, Generally all metal objects are painted with enamel to prevent sparks. The humming is a worry though as it indicates something not functioning correctly in the Magnatron which is a large transformer like object. M/waves are not as expensive as they once were and can be picked up second hand under warranty from cash exchange places for about $30 onwards. I recognise that even that is an expense you dont want, but to continue to try and use a sparking MW is dangerous and is often not worth the money you spend on repair, against a used or refurbished one with a warranty.

Sorry I cant come and take a look for you ( I am in Australia) and help you out any further. But my advice is if you cant fix it yourself easily, Ditch it and replace it with a used one.

That mean that you need to replace either the motor, or to fix the carousel mechanism.

Turn the microwave oven to the "On" position press "Stop/Clear" a few times -- the microwave should return to normal mode.

I hope you didn't run the microwave with nothing in the cavity, if you did, it will damage the magnetron. The turntable dishes do get hot depending on the quality of the glass used to make it. Heat is caused by impurities in the glass. If you run it with no food in the oven, the glass will try to absorb the energy with atastrophic results usually.

The thermistor has failed. Replace the thermistor with the Sharp approved type and part number.
