My sharp carousel r-510 hwf microwave oven is not

Door catches.

One of the latches may be damaged or misaligned and is not lifting the other latch clear of the housing. Remove from any power source, remove the cover of the cabinet. Slacken off the clamp mechanism and ease the clamp over the guide to allow the door to open. When the door levers are in place, the door may be easily adjusted by slackening off the screws that clamp the door catch/actuators in place whilst holding the door closed and then tightening the screws. The rear of the door may be adjusted by slackening the lower door hinge screws and adjusting as required.
I hope that helps.

Door switches

If one of the door interlock switches is not switching properly or there is a condensation problem on the sensor control panel, either can cause the turntable/light/oven to come on even though the "Start" button has not been depressed due to the wiring of the switches.
Check for faulty door switches and/or contaminated actuators.
I hope that helps.

When I woke up this

Thinkind about it, if you open the door, the light is on and you canset time etc but no start function.
Check/replace the door interlock switches as I think there will be a faulty one or the small internal fuse has blown if it has two fuses.
Hope this helps.

15 year old sharp carousel

If everything works, but the microwave oven does not heat, this is commonly caused by a failed magnetron. The magnetron is essentially, the heart of the oven that produces the RF energy that is used to heat your food. In order to replace a defective magnetron, you will need to consider the following:

1. You will need to uninstall the oven from over the range in order to replace the part (you will need to do this anyway, if you decide to buy a replacement oven).

2. Ensure the oven is UNPLUGGED before servicing anything inside the cabinet and remove the exterior case in order to access the magnetron. There are several websites that you can use that illustrate how the oven is assembled:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com appliancepartspros.com
NOTE: If you've never repaired an appliance on your own before, a microwave oven is usually not a recommended appliance to start with. Some models can be rather involved in taking apart.

3. The magnetron replacement part number for the model you have listed is 505137 and is listed as item 1-12 in the parts index. It costs about $100.
4. This model also has a thermperature fuse, listed as item 1-10 that can also cause the same symptoms if blown. The fuse is essentially a thermostat acts as a fuse if the oven cavity overheats. The part number is 46-1518457-3. You will need to remove the thermostat from the oven and take a resistance check across the component terminals to determine if it is good or not. A low resistance reading indicates a good thermostat. An infinite reading, indicates a blown thermostat and needs to be replaced. The average replacement cost is about $10. I would recommend you check all fuse associated with the oven before assuming the magnetron has failed.
Review the parts illustrations at the recommended websites to see if this is something that you may be able easily take apart and reassemble.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

CAUTION: DO NOT operate a microwave oven with the exterior cover off. The voltage inside the High Voltage network where the magnetron is installed can exceed 3,000 volts!

The micro wave ( LG) carousel does not work

If the oven is still heating, but the carousel isn't turning, this problem is commonly attributed to a turntable motor that has worn out and may need to be replaced. The motor is attached to the center plastic piece (called a turntable shaft, turntable ring or coupler) under the middle of the glass tray. The following link explains how to access and replace the motor:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3555716-replacing_a_turntable_motor_on_a_microwa

This is a very simple repair, that usually is not expensive. The price will be determined by the model and manufacturer. This repair can also be performed on an over the range model microwave oven WITHOUT uninstalling it.

You can refer to any of the following websites for comparison:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The first three sites listed have helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you with locating and properly identifying the part(s) you may need.

The average price for a motor is about $35 to $45. If your model number is not listed at all the sites, use the part numbers from the Sears site and use them for your search criteria. The model numbers don't always cross reference, but the part numbers do. If you need assistance identifying the correct part number, please post back with your complete MODEL NUMBER and I can assist you. I hope you find this information helpful.

NOTE: Even though the carousel may not be turning, you can still use the microwave while awaiting parts. You will need to physically rotate whatever you are heating about midway through the cook time to ensure even heating. Early model microwave ovens were not equipped with a rotating carousel and this was the common routine.

Can't find light bulb in

If the owner's manual doesn't cover it and there's no obvious cover on the side or rear, you'll have to remove the outer wrapper.

See these files:
http://wwww.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt
http://wwww.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

The light is probably located on the right side in the air duct attached to the magnetron or on the top of the oven cavity.

Most bulbs can be matched up at hardware stores, home improvement centers, and places like Wal-Mart or even large grocery stores.

You can usually find handy exploded views at the Sears Parts Directimage-4235112-10659157 site.

Sharp R-510HW 1200 Watts Microwave Oven Problems:

Chances are the display does not really need to be replaced.

On these models, there is a conductive rubber "zebra" strip that's used to connect the keypad and dis0play to the connections on the circuit board.

Sometimes steam or grease gets in the connection.

The solution is to disassemble and clean the area with 50% or better isopropyl alcohol then put it back together.

The service manual gives you step by step disassembly information and we have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

If you prefer, we regular perform this service for $39.95 nationwide.

I have a 510AK Sharp

You need to open the oven and test the power source. If the unit is completely dead then check the low tension - 5 and 12 volts - for presence. If the low voltage is there then the controller is dead if it's not then the power source is dead.. If the unit appears as operational but it doesn't heat then test the high tension (~ 800 volts) - if is there then the magnetron has died. Replacing the parts isn't that difficult, finding them is - your oven is quite rare and parts from it can be found only at the manufacturer - you will gonna have to order them to it.

Sharp R-510H (2004) Carousel does not turn during

We have the service manual at our site and have uploaded it here to help you.

The turntable system typically consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

Here is a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the motor cover on the bottom of the oven.

In some models, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

You can order Sharp parts for this brand from Encompass here or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

Let me know if I can help further.

Where is the light bulb in an old Sharp Carousel Microwave?

Microwave_svc's site is awesome! I was able to get all the help I needed for a similar Sharp Carousel microwave. My bulb was simply loose in the socket base causing intermittent bulb lighting. Microwave_svc's helpful links got me to the service manual and, along with a nice set of "tamper-proof" screw compatible TORX bits I bought at HarborFreight, I was easily able to get cover off, remove bulb socket, tighten bulb, re-install bulb socket, button unit back up, and, voila, the light now works without intermittent blinking. FIXYA!!!!

Many thanks to guru microwave_svc!!!!!!!
