Sharp R-320H Microwave Oven Questions & Answers
Microwave problem or electricity circuit problem?
It sounds like there is too much running off that one power line in the house... its starving for power which will take from where it can such as UPS fridge or freezer - other than that it could be a faulty junction box or wiring so you would probably want to see an electrician about it before there is a fire... If too much power is sucked from one wire it may get very hot!
Numbers 1,3, 4 and 6 no longer work
It's probably the keypad. The keypad is a thin plastic membrane type that is glued to the plastic control panel frame.
If none or only some of the pads are working, there may be some foreign
substance on the circuit board, the keypad connection, or inside the
layers of the keypad, the latter of which cannot be repaired.
Trouble is sometimes due to spray cleaner being sprayed directly onto
the keypad. Cleaner should be sprayed on the cloth first, then use the
cloth to wipe the keypad clean.
Never use an ammonia-based cleaner on plastic as the ammonia can attack and crack it.
A handy person can remove the control panel frame and see if there's
any liquid inside on or behind the panel. If so, it is possible to dry
it out, but often that does not work.
Another thing is to unlpug the power at the mains for several seconds.
Plug it back in and see if it works. A reset may do it. At power-up,
the display should flash or show a text
message. If not, a key may be stuck due to a foreign substance or a defective keypad.

If certain keys are not working, there may be some foreign substance at
the point where the green or blue plastic strip from the keypad plugs
into the circuit board. To check that:
1. Be sure the oven is disconnected from the power line while you are taking it apart.
2. The keypad connection is the green or blue translucent plastic strip that plugs into a connector near the edge of the board.
3. There are two tiny tabs (one on each side) of the connector that you can gently pull up on to unlock the connector.
4. Then the keypad strip will lift out. Clean both sides of the end of
the strip with a pencil eraser or alcohol-based cleaner if you like,
but do not use ammonia-based cleaner. Dry the end of the strip.
5. Put the keypad strip back in, making sure both sides are down fully.
6. While holding the strip down, push the connector back down to lock it.
7. Try the keys again with the door closed.
Also, you must have the door closed for the START button to work.

Stopworking
First, if you know you got power to your outlet, then the next step would to be to remove the screws and the outside cover of the microwave, there will be a glass bus fuse inside. these have a tendecy to blow out after several uses. I have a feeling your fuse is blown.
If the fuse is not blown, then the motor may be burnt out BUT CHECK THE FUSE FIRST.
Microwave not works
WARNING: Microwave ovens are the most dangerous consumer appliance to
service due to up to 5,000 V at high current inside. Even with the
power off, there is a HV capacitor that can produce a lethal kick. This capacitor must be discharged before touching anything in the microwave generator circuitry.
DON'T remove the cover yourself unless you fully undertand the SAFETY issues involved in working inside a microwave oven. A microwave oven is possibly THE MOST DANGEROUS common consumer product to service.
About the only "easy" fix would be a blown fuse, if it keeps blowing, don't go any further unless you know what you are doing.
Your likely options are a blown high voltage cap, diode, or the magnetron.
Good luck(but luck has nothing to do with it ;] )
Microwave will not heat
Check the internal fuse. Unplug it, unscrew and take off the cover, the
fuse should be easily found in the back by the power cord. It looks
like a regular fuse but is white instead of clear glass because
microwave fuses are special. You'll have to measure it with a meter as
a result and be sure to replace it with the same kind. (try finding
them at radio shack) Hopefully there isn't something more serious
also. The high-voltage parts the (high-voltage capacitor and
diode) are suspect. These parts start to break down due to the
stress on them and draw more current. The excess current will
usually make the transformer noisy until it gets to where it blows the
fuse.
Hope ya fix it!

START BUTTON
This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.
Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.
This can be caused by slamming the door or by habitually opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
