Hi Jillian, The easiest way to do this is with an external hard drive, that way you copy all of the data you want to the external and then copy it back to the other notebook. This is probably the quickest and easiest way to do it. If you want to copy the data over the Wi-Fi, then you would have to share the folders that you want to copy on the first notebook, by finding the folder you want to share using File Explorer. Right click on that folder and then go to properties. In the properties window, look for the share option and then 'share' the folder, pick 'everyone' to share it with, and then make sure it is set to read/write. This will then give you a share address, which would look like \\mycomputer\desktop (or the name of the folder you have chosen to share) make a note of the share address or path. Go to the other notebook open file explorer and then type in the address bar (at the top) the path you made a note of earlier i.e. \\mycomputer\desktop This should open the shared folder on the other notebook and then you can copy the data over the Wi-Fi. Generally Wi-Fi copying can be slow, if you have a cable (ethernet) then connect both computers to the router using a cable and this will be quicker than using the Wi-Fi. Gerry, we cant see where you are, or what LAN YOU HAVE NOR YOUR ISP, MODEM NOR ROUTERS. (systems vary massively) So only one thing fails, on wifi, is that it? my guess is you have camera set up issues, that can get tricky sure. we run ours wired on the lan and never ever fails. wifi loves to fail. (FOR SURE OUT OF RANGE as camera;s tend to do and for sure THROUGH walls. so if camara fails why not tell the helper make and model of camera and if its firmware is updated and all my cams are set to fixed IP matching each cameras MAC address. wifi can be made to work with wifi extenders lots (AP)
