How to flush out the water heater

Connect one end of garden hose to spout located near bottom of water heater. Put other end near drain or run to outside whichever suits your particular situation better. Shut off water valve at top of heater and open spout to drain. You might not have to drain the whole thing if you do this regularly. If it's never been done before you probably should. When water stops draining out shut off spout and open valve at top of tank to fill it back up. Disconnect garden hose. Water will be cold for about an hour before it has a chance to heat back up. Should be done about once a year or so depending on your water unless you have a self cleaning water heater.

They worked on our city

As long as the water heater is not leaking or not big enough that would be the only reason to replace heater. If you are running out of hot water or it's cold, check the power source first to make sure you have power to heater. Then check the reset button on the top thermostat and make sure it's not tripped if it is it wil not heat. If so press red button aloow it a little time check for hot water. Next step woul dbe to turn power off and drain water to replace both elements out. Once changed out turn water back on and open a faucet to remove air out of the wtare lines. Once you get water flowing out of water lines now you are ready to turn power back on. allow about 30 to 40 monutes and you should have hot water.

How do I fill and

82V52-2 is typical 240Volt 50-gallon electric water heater.
Water heater has to be full of water before turning on power.
This is true for gas and electric water heater.

Once water pipes are connected, you are ready to fill tank.
Turn on cold water shut-off so water enters tank.
Open bathtub spigot on hot side.
When tank is full, water comes out of tub spout full stream.
Let the water run until there is no more air coming out.
Next, open TP lever on water heater for a moment, and this will bleed out last pocket of air.
TP valve is located on upper part of tank, on the side or on top. It is a brass valve with silver-colored lever. Lift lever for a moment and water will exit tank down the overflow tube.
Water heater is full.
Turn on 240Volt circuit breaker going to water heater.
