i have a Miele PUR98W range hood, which seems like it has a similar, but somewhat different, button layout/design. but, assuming we have the same/similar issue, i've had this fail twice now, and it seems like a design flaw where the plastic 'end buttons' that (in tandem with the 2 black side clips in the back) in are too weak. the first time, i ordered 4 new ones (you need two if both ends are broken), and replaced them. the repair lasted 10 months or so, then broke again. being very gentle on the buttons post-repair might help, and the repair wasn't too difficult once i figured out a procedure (first trick is you only need to remove the 4 'side' screws to get the top metal piece with the buttons off, don't forget to disconnect the buttons once it's open a bit). i couldn't find a service manual for this hood, which is too bad since the miele ones seem to be good for the dishwashers anyway. in my base, the 'blank' end buttons were this miele part, $48+shipping and a long wait for 4:8647780 Retainer end button Silver 11.98 11.98 4 47.92after the second repair, if it fails again, i'm planning to employ the 'forever solution' of using machine screws through the hood and entire button assembly. i guess miele didn't want the exposed screw heads, so they used this system, but man, they needed to make the end buttons stronger (i.e. metal).in your case, i'd suspect you'd need to buy a different part, but it may be the same sort of system where the 'end' buttons are separate plastic pieces. if not, sorry, this might not be too helpful. but in any event if you find the exploded parts diagram for your specific hood (i found mine somewhere, maybe on miele website) it should give some insight, and will provide part numbers.
