Software glitch? Try disconnecting printer while it is turned on. Then press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Then replug printer and turn on. Any difference? If not, you have either something in there clogging up the mechanism or you have a bad sensor giving erroneous info.

Depends on the document. If there are images and the type is handwritten. First scan the type as OCR scan so it scans only the text, a new window should appear for editing...nothings perfect... Then scan the page with the images as a whole as doc file. Hope this helps, not all scanners are built the same, just have to read the instructions and features before buying. Another way to scan to word is right from the MS Word Application. View the video to learn how.

the grey roller (1"wide) can be cleaned using Spray WD40 on a cloth, wipe the roller clean using the chemicals in WD40,(also moisturizes the rubber) allow 5 FULL mins for evaporation then wipe ANY excess off with a CLEAN DRY cloth, first few feeding attempts may faail leaving residue this is normal.alternatively use a professional rubber restorer compund. the long Grey roller spanning the entire print width is Not removable, it is factory fitted and set into place, stripping a machine down to that level is not cost effective even at very low labour rates.

Okay... Sound to me like the DHCP Server in your router is off.. Well, do this or have your technician login to your Router admin page ( by typing or, (or something similar depending on the brand and make of the router) into your browser and hitting enter) and either make sure Lan side DHCP server is on, or leave it off and just assign different static local IP's to each of your network devices ( e.g. for you laptop and for your printer). I think that will solve your problem if its related to an IP conflict. Hope this Solves your problem. :)

Check the printer's preference settings. It might just be it is set to default to that unless you manually change it to color print.

It might be saying open it and look for a jammed document. Some printers say open a cover and close it to reset the logic board.
