Not familiar with this particular model, offer suggestions, 1. the large can nut on top is loose allowing the faucet to swing around missing the internal stops, 2 the internal stops are broken off.

You should have called Moen and have them send you a complete cartridge part 1225.. All the parts are free.

Usually there is a nut underneath the countertop it is mounted on. Probably just needs a good wrench tightening

the right one. Get a set. Try different sizes till you find one that fits snugly. No wiggle. There are american sizes and metric sizes. Get one of each (probably $20 at home depot) Northern Tool and Equipment way cheaper. Ebay, sometimes cheaper still. Or go to Home Depot or Lowes with a photo of your kitchen faucet and see if they sell one that looks like it, and see what it uses...

If you are having problems using your own general tools here is your issue.....first ...... Odds are that it is english sae sizing (not metric) ... Second .... Moen sometimes uses a weird size that most people do not have which is 7/64" Helpful??

Take the handle back off and tighten the ring (or nut) that holds the ball and handle shaft in place, then reinstall the handle.

shut water off, remove hose from faucet under neath sink. remove hose, reattach spray head and push hose thru faucet and reconnect under sink.

The bottom half of the handle turns clock wise to tighten down on to tha valve body. If it's the upper part of the handle that is loose, you will need to remove the handle (CCW), and tighten the inside screw.

You will need the tool that came with your Moen faucet to remove it. If you don't have the tool, you will need to get one from Moen. It turns CCW to loosen (as you're looking up at the aerator). You might also soak it in some white vinager to help loosen it.

Take off the bottom handel. You will find a limit adjustment on the stop tube. You can adjust how far the hot water will go on by adjusting the stop Seth an Allen wrench.

Take out the screen see if clogged

Usually I would stop here and give up. Time you will spend will not be worth your trouble. A new faucet is a better solution. But you asked a question and I respect that. If I wanted to pull the knob off and the screw was damaged or frozen. I would drill out the head of the screw. Once the head is gone, the knob should slip off the splines. Now check if you will need to replace the valve or rebuild it. If the valve can be rebuilt. You will decide to either leave the broken screw alone or remove it before rebuilding it. I would try to heat up the screw and splined collar with a propane torch and try to dissolve the corrosion trapped between the threads. Then use either small vise grips or adjustable pliers to see if I can work out the broken screw, without damaging the splines.
