you may need a diagram for this. There may be a diode in line with current. If so, it functions as a circuit breaker to keep from damaging the motor. If no current goes thru diode but is at the "front", then replace diode. Also something made the diode malfunction, so you need to investigate. My money is on the motor. It is probably starting to ground out.

Check the power wire that plugs into the power supply for anything that doesn't look right. Something could be loose inside also but don't attempt to dissemble it and fix it unless you're confident in your skills, otherwise any electronics shop could diagnose and likely fix it for a small fee. Check with a flashlight above and below the S and the m of Sunbeam, push them inward they are hard to push you will not fell any flexibility you can use a thin spatula around the outside of the grey ring the chrome middle part is screw to the grey ring use a small screwdriver or a little blade to pry on the tab and with the spatula apply a little tension to lift out the front after you push one tab above the S, you may not fell the effet it's ok keep the tension and pry the tab above the m if nothing move prying both tab above when one side pop out do the same technique on the tab below. voil?!
