Lights inside does not work

Unplug the refrigerator and remove the 40 watt incandescent light bulb and clean the socket. Make sure that it is completely clean of any rust or debris. If rusted get sandpaper or an emery board and rub the points that are rusty. Before putting the light bulb back make sure it does work and the filament is not broken and if so replace with a new bulb. Secondly check the on and off switch triggered by the door closing. Pop it out with a flat tip screw driver and check for black spots, or dislodged wires. Clean and re-connect the wires. Pop it back in and with the bulb secured in the socket plug the refrigerator back and see if the light works. Good Luck

My cooler cools, but after

Hi,
Due to various reasons this problem could occur:

1)First you have to resolve for the cause of the issue.
First Check the back wall or floor of the freezer section for frost. The Freezer(evaporator) fan is running?.This fan problem is very hard to detect.
The DC motor for the fan wears out the RPM's are effected. It gives the illusion that it is running fine, but it don't have enough force to supply air circulation for both the freezer
and the refrigerator See weather the condenser coil for
blockage from dust and the condenser fan is running.
2)Check the temperature setting.
Set it to max and min and check for any changes you can see in the system.
3)The the freezer vents cold air to the refrigerator.Occasionally the vent can become clogged with ice, food or other debris. Locate the vent and clear it. To remove ice, use a hair dryer set to "low". Using the high setting may cause damage to the components or interior of the refrigerator.
4)Defrost timer:Usually the defrost timer could solve this issue. It may be located below or back of the refrigerator. Some times it may be located in the side to for side refrigerator.Locate the timer and rotate the clutch head screw clockwise until you hear one audible click. That puts the system into defrost mode. If the system restarts after 30-35 minutes. Then there is no problem with Defrost timer.
5)Heater and defrost thermostat is located behind the back wall of the freezer section.
This only controls the Heat. After the Defrost timer stops it makes the system warm.
Defrost thermostat could be defective.

In side by side refrigerator the defrost timer is embedded with temperature control board
so you have to do continuity testing on the board to find out the exact cause.

Use ohm-meter to test the parts. To test defrost heater and defrost thermostat they will have two wire endings keep the ohm-meter two ending on each probe.

Since you do it for 2 hours the the Refrigerator will not fully defrost. It will take
atleast 8 hours more to melt he forst ice at the back panel of the Refrigerator.
For time being Solution:Switch off your Refrigerator for 10 hours or more and melt the "snow" build-up in the freezer section.Use hair dryer to melt it quickly. Now switch on the system and see the cooling effect. It will be increased. The snow" build-up in the freezer section will not allow the cool air to flow into the Refrigerator. There will be valve in the backside through which cool air flows.

The interior light is off

Hello,

You need to see if the refrigerator is plugged in properly. Also check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. See if there is any damage to the electrical cord and check the outlet voltage. Troubleshoot the problem and if you do not find any of the above reasons as the cause of refrigerator not working, call the repairman.

Check for the temperature control. If it is off, turn it on. If not, then you need to check the compressor for overheating. You need to unplug the refrigerator and clean the condenser coils. If the compressor is bad, then you need to call the repair man.
Also, You need to check the temperature settings and see if there is enough air flow in the refrigerator and freezer. You need to check for air flow restrictions in the vents and clean the compressor coils. The door seals, door switch, defrost heater and timer has to be checked. Also clean the clogged drain tube and refrigerant leak.

Take care.

Short compressor running time

Make certain that the condenser fan motor is operating (which pulls hot air from the compressor) and minimizes overheating of the compressor. The defrost timer usually controls operation of the compressor. You really should contact an appliance service company.

I had a similar problem, & found out that what was making the noise is the cardboard siding on the condensor(bottom of the cooler) I placed a "shim" between the cardboar and that took care of the noise.
