most likely your video card is going south, that is a common problem among HP (DV5000, 6000) and Compaq (5000, 6000) the video card is not getting enough fresh air or is getting too hot, after a while it will just stop working and you would be able to hear but not see Windows.
One technique to fix this problem (is not the best) is to disassemble the laptop all the way to the mother board, isolate components with foil and use a heat gun (some people uses hair driers) and blow in to the video card for about 4 min. that will help some of the card components to stick together again. after you finish doing this put it together and test.
like I said before is not the best option because it will work for a few days maybe weeks and then it will die again plus you can damage other components this is common in 3rd world countries and cheap repair shops.
the other option is to replace the video card most likely ATI right? you have to take the laptop to a repair shop and ask if they have a rework station and a person who knows how to use it. ask if they can check and if needed replace video card some places would charge you about 150 to 250 depends on work quality that would last longer.

Base from the description of your problem this is definitely related to the overheating of your laptop , to monitor if you laptop is getting very hot while playing a game I will advice you to install software to monitor the temp of your computer so you can compare if it shut down on a very high temp and if did what you need to do here is to add some more cooling system on your computer like some cooling fans.
You can download the software from this link,

Look carefully at the hard drive that you are replacing. When you take it out of the [mine is a Compaq f750us] computer you might see, for want of a better term, a "STRETCHER" attached to the contacts/connectors, remove it. Put it on the NEW hard drive, put hard drive into computer. Try it again. I did and I did NOT get the "error" code! Why because the HD is now CONNECTED...touches the contacts..

Could be a bad hard drive from the sound of it. Since its not letting you go into the operating system. Try do restore your laptop back to factory defaults, if it doesn't go thru or freezes up then your hard drive is bad and needs to be replaced.

There are many methods, but the secure and the easiest one is to use Windows System Restore.

It will be located in the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

There you will select to restore at an earlier point, there will a calender in front of you, with few dates with BOLD format.
Select a date before this event occured.

And restore the system.
Note: You all settings will be restored to that day's settings.

If i was helpfull, Kindly Do Rate!

in your android phone's settings enable or access developer options and turn on usb debugging,( if you don't know how to access developer options you can google your android phones model and android version and how to enable usb debugging) once you enable it just plug it into your laptop and it should recognize it and automatically download the correct driver, if not, go to your phones manufacture's website and look for driver downloads for your model and android version. you can also google this to save time.

A DVD player that is an integral part of the laptop does not need drivers to make it play discs. If there is no driver shown, maybe the DVD unit is faulty?
All laptops will play CD/DVD from boot without drivers. The drivers are there to allow you to do specifics to the DVDs.

The 0xc0000185 error simply means that the computer can't communicate with the CD drive. It could be due to a faulty CD drive or media, a bad connection, faulty interface, bad memory, power supply etc. You will need to isolate the problem further, why couldn't you boot normally? check the BIOS settings again and try clearing the CMOS memory correctly as described in the manual (just removing the battery may not be good enough).

I am assuming you are wanting install this on a HP machine, so all you should need to do, is go to the HP website if you use the machine you want to install it on, the web site should be able to detect, your make and model, and if any software is missing it will direct you to the page where you can download the software, and install it in the same way you install any other application in windows.

p6126f PAVILION. it is. no monitor stated, at all. no errors show on monitor, like no signal?
the PC blue light means it thinks its one.
the fans must blow, both PSU and CPU or you have no 12vdc power.
the uSB ports have power, but that happens even with PC in standby mode, or even turned off, that is how I charge my cell phone PC off, using my USB ports,
what matters is:
1: monitor errors, seen
2: Fans.
3; you clicked shut down via what< windows, linux what?
if you CLICKED shut down and the fans don't go dead
that means your OS is corrupted. for sure.
top reasons are bad drivers, and vista can't shut down.
or worse. there is always that. (virus)

I'd DUMP vista, nobody on earth wants to help anyone with a dead vista , horrid VISTA, did you know MS in there great wisdom failed to add recovery mode to vista, yah sux, swap gas. that.
upgrade to w7 and end this silly mess called vista.
w7-64bit is best here, with full HP support seen here.

this is not spam, its the real HP, the place with no malware, etc.
