The battery runs out, I
The battery on the Vostro seems to run out more than the othere models as the processor takes in more current than the other processors. Also with the 15 inch display you have more drain, now coupled with all these factors the quality of the battery seems to be not as desired and there are many cases where the battery runs down than the time period.
So it this case you battery is bad and must be replaced as there is no charge accumulating even with long charging time.

Remove SweetIM from firefox
Hi
are you asking how to remove sweetim
if so
start
control panel
add remove programs or programs and features
then scroll down to find the sweetim tool bar
click remove or un install
that should take care of it
good luck
many thanks
Is it possible to install
Yes you will have to format your drive and remove partitions, then create new partitions and add a boot up option menu. Then when you power on your computer it will ask if you want to boot Windows 7, or Windows XP. You will have to have both copies of Windows also your restore partition can't do this.
I'm having this Dell Vostro
insert the cd into the cd rom, when dell logo appears start tapping F12 it will give you the option to boot directly from cd.
also you can try system recovery if you have recovery partition with ctrl+F11.
Slow start up and shut down
Hello,
You didn't mention what version of Windows (Is it Windows, or is it Linux / other?) that you are using. For laptops in particular, windows sometimes gets confused as to which power saving state that the laptop should be in.
Next time that windows is running, you should see an icon of either a battery, or of a power plug in the area next to the clock (lower right corner). If you LEFT click on this, there will be a list of various power schemes that are available. MAX BATTERY will reduce the processor speed the most, while ALWAYS ON turns off power saving altogether, and allows the laptop to run at full speed.
If your fan always seems to be on, or seems to be cycling on and off rapidly even though you are doing little with the computer, then you might need to have the fan and heatsink cleaned out (consult a computer shop). When the processor starts to run hot, the motherboard will begin to slow it down regardless of the power scheme.
You might also be looking at a program that is loading during startup (did you just happen to install Open Office by chance?) that also takes a while to unload while shutting down. Consider what you have recently installed, and check your startup menu (click start >> programs >> startup ) to see what is being loaded there.
The button is on and the lock 9 is on and flashing
Hold the power button for 5 seconds or more - does it turn off properly? If so, can you turn it back on afterwards?
Take out the battery and unplug the power adaptor. Let it sit for a few minutes. Now try the power adaptor alone. If this works, try shutting down and running on battery again.
