1. Power drain your laptop ie., Unplug the power cable from the laptop, Remove the battery.
2. There is no power flow in your laptop now press and hold the power button for 10 to 15 sec.
3. Now plug back the power cable and start the computer normally

I don't think that the one touch recovery button will work if you have installed another copy of the OS. The one touch recovery is meant for a single OS (in your case, it might be X.P). To go back to X.P, you will have to format and install X.P again.

I am confident the sites are up and running as I can open the same url within Firefox seconds later. Disabling the Web Filter on my Anti-Virus made no difference. I am Running ESet as my Antivirus.

Out of curiosity, I looked at the "LAN settings" under the Internet Properties / Connections tab and noticed that the proxy setting was enabled. I do not use a proxy from home. It was configured to point to the local host (127.0.0.1) on port 5555. I disabled the proxy setting and was able to browse without issue. Proxy setting is unique to Firefox and not shared with IE which would explain IE having issues as well.

Digging further I found that the "fake antivirus" application had created those settings along with some registry settings and dropping an executable on my system.

it depends what you want to use it for... if you want to use with for video chat or conferencing then that particular software would have the option to use webcam... if u want to use it apart from that then click on the start button (windows button on the left bottom corner of your computer screen)

They will base several versions on the same base hardware but one will have more ram or a bigger drive or be slightly faster. The SKU or product number is how they tell them apart. It also gives a good idea of what you could upgrade ie faster cpu speeds.

if you pressed the small button to put your computer back to factory settings, just go to the control panel and program features to uninstall the lenovo ready comm.

try to turn off the pc, remove cables & battery, then push the power button for 5 secs. Re-insert cables and battery, turn on pc. If keyboard did not work, call our tech support line 1-877-4-536686 for possible keyboard repair...

Hi grneelam, if your dvd is not working, it might not read the dvd.

Try this solution:

if using windows 7 or vista

click start > type run on the "start search" box and hit ENTER > type regedit

> click arrow in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
> click arrow in System
> click arrow in Current_Control_Set
> click Control
> click Class
> click the folder 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002Be10318


on the right side of the registry, right click upper filters and click delete.
You will do likewise with lower filters.

Restart PC and test if DVD will work ...

Usually this could be resolved by powerdraining your computer. Disconnect the battery and the adapter for two whole minutes then press the pwoer button to completely drain its power off. Try using the AC adapter power only without the battery. if it will not work still then the keyboard needs replacement. Generally a hardware failure

Does this laptop have USB ports? If so you can get an USB CD drive and you can then format the hard drive and re-install Windows.
